Usually if there are two doors, and someone holds the first one for you, you'll be ahead of them at that point and in a position to open the second door, thus returning the favor.

As far as the thank-yous, it's an awkward situation.

I usually just fart.

LMAO, this is hilarious... If someone gets the first door for me, i say thanks... If they get the second door for me, as well (which i try to do, to oblige their courtesy), i say "thanks, again"... If they happen to hold a third for me, then i'm an inmate in a prison and the dude holding the "doors" is the prison guard... :-)

This is an offshoot of the "goodbye again" thread.

When you are entering a building that has one door then another door like 4 feel later, and someone holds the first one, you obviously say "thanks". Do you say "thanks" when they hold the second one too? I do most of the time.
