Im with you Randy! I saw a LM004 at Newport Autosport last month...it belonged to a customer i think and was sitting in the parking lot. I had never seen one before in my life and it was just gorgeous!

You all know I play teh bass and need a big car that can transport it...well...instead of a minivan, I could by the 004 and drive a Lamborghini and a car to transport my bass at the same time :-) Plenty big enough!

There is one on ebay right now for 75k

Funny, one of my customers is a drivetrain line manager at the factory. He says 40% of the market is soccer moms. I just can't believe it. *shakes head* and the advertisements of "more steel" is just downright scary, even if the drivers are putting on 22" wheels on the suburbanville automobiles.

Call me 80's fashioned, but I still dig the LM004, even if it was designed by a tractor company. =)

That whole SUV/Support Terrorism thing is a bunch of CRAP.

The US oil supply get about 14% of it's total oil from the Middle East.

Of all the gas used for passenger vehicles in the US, only about 18% is burnt in the engines of SUVs.

It is silly to think that 100% of the 18% of the 14% of the total US consumption goes to support terrorism.

Ariana Huffington can lick DEES NUTS.

Yeah, William, i read that article, which i thought was a complete and utter waste of my friggin' time... On the flip side, i'm considering sending a letter to the woman who started that crap and telling her that my car has an oil leak and if she wants to keep oil consumption down, would she please send me the 250 or so dollars it's gonna cost to fix it... i'm too lazy to get involved in crap like that, though...

BTW

On some news channel, (correct me if I'm wrong) someone was saying that if you buy an SUV, your supporting terrorism. I'm sure the UAW & GM love hearing that.

Tyler,

I understand that none of us drive, or aspire to drive, efficient vehicles.

My point is this: Ferraris are inneficient because they go fast, and the average Ferrari customer can take advantage of that at some point.

A truck is inefficient because it is big and heavy, but it can be used to haul or tow stuff, so it has a use.

A Humvee, on the other hand, is designed to take artillery fire. Not one assh*le who feels the need to add a big d*ck extention by buying either a real Hummer, or the pussified vag-mobile H2, will EVER gain any advantage in exchange for the inefficiencies. It is big an heavy not because it can haul stuff or tow stuff.....it is big and heavy because it was built specifically for a military contract.

The people who drive these things are saying one thing, and one thing only: "Look what I have!" There are many people that think the same of Ferrari owners, but you and I know that driving a Ferrari is much more than showing off. Driving a Hummer is just some retard's way of proving that he's got a bigger truck.

In no way, what-so-ever, will anyone ever convince me that the Hummer or the H2 should be offered to the public.

Sorry.

Arlie, I think the H2 is built on the Tahoe chassis. Unfortunately it has become all the rage for soccer moms to drive. It really is not to bad of a truck. You have to drive a real Hummer(H1) to appreciate how civilized the H2 is.

Nebula Class
As for being an inneffecient, how many of us drive hybrids? I know I don't.

Seriously folks, the H2's are not huge offensive vehicles(at least to me). I've got an F350 crew cab dually 4x4 for the farm that makes an H2 look like a toy.

Is everybody on the same page here? The H2 as people are calling it, is the latest offering by GM. The HUMVEE is the military vehicle. They are two totally different animals. The H2 is built to LOOK like a HUMVEE, but I believe that it is built on a Surburban chassis. The military HUMVEE, which is also available as the Hummer on the civilian market, is diesel powered, lower, and wider than the H2 with a completely different chassis and suspension. In other words, the H2 is a sheep in wolf's clothing. At a glance it somewhat resembles the HUMVEE, but it's all bluff.

Every high end soccer mom almost has a H2 in Houston. The damn things are everywhere. "Because their safer." Sure, but for who. If I had something the almost the size of a M1 Abrams tank, I'd feel safe too. Make the world a safer place to talk on the cell phone as you POW into smaller cars without spilling the STAR BUCKS Coffee. Be afraid, be VERY afraid.

Those truck are for the amazingly stupid.

Yes, you heard me.

When you absolutely, postiviley, HAVE to beat the Jones', buy a Hummer!

I want to vom every time I see some small- Geroge driving one of these things.

Hello people! Do you realize that, in terms of commuting, you are driving the most inefficient and ineffective vehicles on the road?

The Ferrari is built for speed. It sucks gas and costs a ton, but people buy them for the art and for the performance. They excel in their field.

The Hummer is built TO NOT GET BLOWN UP IN BATTLE. It is design to WITHSTAND LAND MINES AND MISSLES. As a result, it is heavy, slow, and ugly. The interior is cramped in order to fit the tranny and engine in a place where it is protected FROM ENEMY GUNFIRE.

Jesus Christ, it's like a rich dude buying a C-130 instead of a G-5, just because he's too concious of his tiny pee-pee and needs to have a bigger plane then the next dude.

Sorry if any of you drive a hummer here, but there is NO WAY you can justify the need to hog the road, gas, and parking lot except to satisfy your need to look as big and puffy as possible.

LOL, Jordan, that reminds me of a similar saying: What's the difference between a porcupine & a BMW...? With the porcupine, the pricks are on the OUTSIDE...! (i say that to my uncle everytime he pisses me off... :-))

That also reminds me of a joke:
A mouse i walking through the jungle and falls down a narrow hole. An elephant walks by and hears the mouse yelling for help. The elephant tries to help the mouse by sliding his tale down the hole, but it's too slippery for the mouse to hold onto and he can't pull him out. So the elephant tried sticking his foot down the hole, but it's too wide. So finally, the elephant sliDES his, um, schlong down the hole, the mouse grabs hold and the elephant pulls him right out. The mouse is very thankful. A week later, the elephant is walking through the woods and gets his foot caught in a bigger hole. That same mouse just happens to be driving by in his little mouse Porsche. The mouse sees the elephant in trouble and goes over to see what's going on. "My foot is stuck" says the elephant. The mouse says, "No problem, i'll get you right out" and proceeds to tie a rope from the bumper of his Porsche to the elephant's foot. The mouse gets in and drives and pulls the elephant's foot right out of the hole, thus freeing him from his predicament. The elephant is very thankful.
The moral of the story...? You don't need a Porsche if you've got a big wang...!

(Damn, i really 'jacked this thread, didn't i...? Sorry... :-))

There is a truck in a nearby neighborhood that is that tall off teh ground. The guy climbs in with a ladder then kicks it away. Rediculous...Men with big trucks have small ___...Just a saying i know :-)

Besides, I dont like the H2 that much. Its too girly. If I got a hummer it would be an older hard top wagon. The H2 just looks like another SUV and they are all over my city *southern california*. When the hell are you going to go Off roading in LA anyway? :-)

I saw that car at the LA Auto Show... absolutely horrendous... I mean enormous. haha... The regular H2 is large enough as it is... if you really wanted to get a monster truck...well, I guess you'd get one...otherwise, $100k for a hopped up Hummer H2 is just a bit too much.
