For Opentrack Challenge contacts, just use the message board link from their web site. It says the board is for participants and past participants, but anyone can access it. The organizers are always on there and are REAL friendly. Some of the same guys as on corner-carvers.com As for the Ferrari representation, I thought there was an article in Car and Driver about the lack of exotics competing in One Lap. There was one F40 in the Open Track Challenge that I know of. |

This year is probably out due to arrival of baby but next year has posibilities. I am not really into time trial/autcross type stuff and personally wouldn't have any interest running the Challenge car in such an event (if it's even allowed). But since it's somebody else's ride (BMW M3 Lightweight) and a relatively nice track car I am giving it serious thought. Not sure what class the car would run in since it's got a non factory coil over system, race seats/harnesses and a bolt in roll bar. Engine I think is stock except for airbox and filter. I assume there is no wheel to wheel racing gathering from what is on the website (darn!!). I was also invited to do the OpenTrack event last year but it's too far away and the other particpant was running a 2 year old front wheel drive World Challenge car and I had no experience (or desire) to run a front wheel drive car. It's my impression that OpenTrack Challenge is a "run what cha brung" type deal where anything short of an open wheel indy car is acceptable. I think One Lap is a bit more restrictive. Anyway, I've got a year to decide! Thanks for the info, any contacts (names or email) greatly appreciated. Regards, Jon |

We need a better f-car representation at these events. One of our in-house F40 owners show up and please show then who really 'owns' |

From what I've hear the One Lap is great and commands a lot of attention due to the fact that it is affiliated with Car and Driver magazine. But, for the real hard-core track nuts, nothing beats the OpenTrack Challenge. Last year was the first year, but from what I hear, it was designed to be everything that One Lap is not. http://www.opentrackchallenge.com A number of West Coast people have run it and a I know a few personally. No affiliation- just heard A LOT about it! |

I'm a fan of 1LoA. Really Cool Venue. You should jump at the chance. I can't imagine it being anything but great. |

I was offered a ride in the One Lap of America either in 2003 or 2004. Someone I race with is planning on participating in the One Lap with his modified E36 M3 Factory Lightweight. Anyone here done the One Lap, watched it, or know of anyone who has done it. Doubt I could do it in 2003 with ababy on the way in June (One Lap is in May) but 2004 has possibilities. Thanks, Jon P.
