Hans, no (but the old ones, yes). However, our loonies and toonies are magnetic! (So are the dimes and quarters). |

J. - I wish your suggestion worked, but unfortunately no financial institution or anyone else will honor rolls that are not stamped by a bank or automated machine for accuracy. |

Peter: Are Canadian nickels still magnetic? As a kid I used to troll in wishing wells with a magnet. Used to get a significant # of Canadian nickels. (FWIW, US nickels are, as I remember, 25% nickel, whereas Canadian are/were around 75%. That difference in alloy seemed to make the difference between magnetic and non) |

Wow, multi-gallon-sized piggy banks... Big players here. I only have a small Tootsie Roll container half-full of pennies. No joke! And those are Canadian pennies!! |

Nebula, i think we have better things to do on our Saturdays than roll coins... If you're hip and cool like me, you're organizing your sock drawer- get with it, dude...

My friend and I rolled his 25 gal Sparklet's bottle this summer. He used the cash to spend a month in spain. I think there was 3k in it. It only took the two of us 3 or four hours or so. No big deal. If your bank won't do it for free, just spend a saturday doing it. |

Craig, definitely go to your bank... If you've got a CD or an IRA through them and you're a "regular customer" or have an account with a large amount of money in it, they should definitely wave any fees they might apply- if they want to charge you, make no hesitation in piping up about how good a customer you are... If they still want to charge you, just ask them for a lot of rollers and i'll come by this weekend and roll it all for you... for a ride, of course... |

My brother filled up a 2 gallon jug about half way and came out with about $300. You probably have a whoooooooole lot. Once again, go to your bank. ;-) Jason- |

I took mine to the bank in an old pillow case. I filled out a deposit slip and wrote $50 or some number and turned it in. About 3 days later, I got a 'deposit adjustment' for another $100 or so. |

I believe banks even charge a 1% fee for it, but that's still considerably less than any other machine. If you are "in" with the bank, you might get that waved. |

Go to your bank! The change machines in the grocery stores around here charge 8% as well. |

well, its just about that time, i knew when i bought my 91 348 that the 30K service was due, my problem is cash flow is limited at this time, im sitting here looking at my 5 gallon water bottle full of about 25 years worth of spare change, i weighed it and it comes in about 250 lb's, i seen the change machines they have in the market, but they charge about 8% or 9% fee, if theres 4K or 5K in change thats like giving away 300-400 $ , anybody have any idea where i can cash in this much change with out paying a fee, thanks |
