Tyler, You must try the USP Expert .45...my mother has one. I have held many handguns, but the weight distribution on that HK is simply amazing...I feel as if the firearm is an extension of my arm its so well designed. The amazing thing is that Experts are BIG handguns (not desert eagle big, but still big) Side note, The P7M8 is the same way..that handgun you cannot even feel you are holding...its like simply holding your arm in the air. I cannot say the same for Berrettas though...:p Sad how the P7M13 lost to that gun, IMO, there is no comparison. |

Omar, nice to see other gun enthusiasts here. I am an HK fan as well. I love their rifles. Adam, I've always thought the P7M8 was a great gun. I like HK rifles, but I've become a Kimber man for handguns(I shoot them well so that's what I like.) |

Adam, Thank you for the site! We MUST get together sometime..('boys with toys': fine firearms and fine automobiles ) I love Walther and HK, they are my fav. firearm manufacturers (could you guess from the post about HK? ) I can't wait until I am old enough to have a pistol..so I make due with rifles for know. On a side note, I have a 1942 Moesin Nagant(damn I cant spell) Sniper Rifle (just like the one in Enemy at the Gates..3 bar sight and all!) and a SVT-40 Battle rifle, amoug others (think russian version of the M1 grand) Though some don't like russian weapons as much, even anti-firearm people can appreciate the history behind the sniper rifle (and the world famous Soviet snipers of the time...one and only 148 kills in the war, but used only 149 bullets!, stories like that, etc) and the SVT (its basic action is said to be the basis of the action in the german "Strumgewahr" aka the worlds first assult rifle..and later the AK47 and its children, a great peice that shows the transition of mid 20th century firearm design.) Nebula Class, my favorite saying is "Give me a G3 and twelve cylinders, and I am a happy camper" Now I just need to make that 12 a Ferrari 12 instead of a BMW, and that G3 a PSG1 and I will be a even happier camper! |

Omar...have you tried http://www.hkpro.com One of my fav sites as I am a big collector of HK. I carry a P7M8 in a shoulder rig, have a Tactical, and a SL8. I wish NJ would let me have a G3 or even a PSG-1. |

Tim - I suggest you sell your F-car or abandon any dreams of owning an F-car. Owning an assualt rifle is to law-abiding citizens what owning an F-car is to law abiding drivers. It's called "EXCESS" and my life, your life, and Omar's life would be dull without it. |

That said, back to topic, anyone know where I can get the assembly? I shot a MP5 with the Navy and the gun felt easier to hold in my hands and the selector is light years ahead of the S/E design and far smoother and easier to operate. Am I the only HK lover here? Come on the shooters here know that when it comes to quality HK stands above the rest! BTW thank president clinton for being a dipsh!t...though I could see where banning cheap Aks from china is a good thing, I still can not see why he had to ban the PSG1 (the sniper version of the G3) at around $10,000...or nearly 2x the barret .50 cal sniper rifle, they were only bought by rich collectors who apprciated the fine firearm. Not being very wealthy at the time(or now for that matter), I conviced my father to get a used one for a 'reasonable' $7500...only to have clinton ban the gun (since it was imported). You can still buy it, but its asking price jumped a few grand...p!ssing me off quite greatly. |

Tim, first of all its not an assult rifle, its a battle rifle by definition. An assult rifle is chambered to an intermdiate round (like the .222/.223/5.45x39/7.62x39) because on full auto burst in a standing positon it is more controlable than a standard rifle round. The G3, FN FAL, and the M14 are the last of the M1 grand type battle rifles, but have a full auto option (on military versions) for impromtu squad autofire(the only way its controllable) These guns are all chambered to the standard NATO round of 7.62x51...which is MUCH larger than the inter. rounds like the AK's 7.62x39. They make quite enjoyable sporting rifles. And some of us appreciate the history as well behind the rifle. The G3 is the gun that made HK as a company, and its unquie fluted chamber design was the basis of over 3 decades of guns to come, like he MP5. before you get me on the 'look' of the gun, see a CETME rifle, it was HK's first iteration of the rifle and lacks the plasic that has come to be associated with western assult rifles, instead, it to a degree even more than early A1s and A2s is a 'woody' rifle. The pics I have are later versions in them selfs from teh orginal HK G3A1, I dont remember as much an more, but if I remmber the retractable stock one is a G3A3 and the Navy one is G3A4. FYI Plastic is used as it reduces the weight of the gun greatly...and G3s are heavy guns, so lighting is a good thing. |

I dont think assault rifles are needed to defend houses, etc. The name alone should tell you that. they are made to assault people. |

Guns are okay and i completely support the right to bear arms (FIGHT THE POWER!) but peace should always be everyone's main concern... |

Anyone know where I can get a updated Navy style trigger assembly for a HK G3/HK91? I want to convert my selector assembly from traditional S/E (missing F of course) to the pictoral safe and single (missing the 3 and full auto of course) with the updated plasic grip. BTW if you dont know HKs, the above might not make any sense Help would be appreciated. PS NRA forever! |
