When I talked to Paul Spruell (Atlanta), he said around $160,000. It probably will look nicer in person.

The word is already out, in the automotive world, that Lambo's new V 10 is going to be turbocharged (to up the ante) and fitted in an upcoming Audi. Wonder what that's going to do to the Gallardo ?

The only thing pretty I find is the engine (gorgeous), the cockpit (very tasteful), and if it has excellent performance, thats helps, but not what I'm solely after.

Regarding style, I don't like the Merci' and I like the Gallardo even less. The only attractive styling cue is the roofline and how it follows along the top door sills.

Better then the 360? Thats very very subjective!

I was waiting for William H. to chime in with the "big wing" thing! ...and I totally agree.

Why did they leave the exhaust? hang out the bottom...it destroys the semmetry. Also the sides look like a modern TR's sans the long grill to me.

Anyone else see what I mean?

I like the new car. It is not exciting in a Murcielago/Diablo/F40/F50 sort of way, but it is much better looking than anything out there in its price range, including the 360. Performance will also be vastly superior.

Pictures dont do any of these cars justice. Look at a 360, they are ugly and very dull from a side view, but look great head on and from the back. Imho, Ferrari and Porsche have their work cut out for them.

Its also already been voted BEST OF SHOW by Autoweek.

I too must admit I am a big fan of the wing. It gave Lambo that edge, set it apart from Ferrari. The wing represented that reckless disregard. Nowadays everyone is all about being so smart and efficient, IMO they haven't become so intelligent in car design but have rather just become big pussies.

The rear looks horrible and the rest of the exterior isn't much better. The interior looks a little nicer than the murcielago. I guess wings aren't really needed these days but i agree with William there really needs to be a wing on a lambo. Those Audi guys can't design a decent looking car to save there lives.

I like it better than the 360, the back end is a bit funky though. Needs a big friggin wing, what does Lambo have against wings these days ? Lambos always had wings since the Countach. Bring back the wing!!!!, Bring back the wing!!!!! :-)

If it had a large air intake on the hood, it would look like one of those ugly Daytona Prototypes that raced at the Rolex 24.

Germans cannot design supercars!, simple as that ... they do not have the passion required to make these outlandish type of vehicles.

To me it looks like a mid engined A4 Audi, with all the over engineering of any German car.

Thus it will be a perfect car and all, but lack that passion ... that Italian cars have. This is why Porsches are not my cup of tea, very fast and capable, but lack that Italian tempriment (sp) and soul!

Yes this car will be the best ever Lambo ... but the purests will hunger for the pre-Germanised versions.

i keep looking at it and i frown everytime i look at the front 'cause it's just like the Murcielago... Also- why the hell is the steering wheel flat on the bottom...? The side looks nice, the back is ok, i guess- it's probably an 'acquired taste', 'cause i'm still not so sure about it... i guess i just expected something completely different from the Murcielago and that's not what they gave us...

Nice AUDI S4 wheels. Didn't know there was THAT much development cost in designing a wheel that reusing the mold on the Lambo's was neccessary to recoup it.

If you look at the rear diffuser treatement, peek at the differential case, you can't help but see (mentally) the ass end of a 355.

The engine bay, and interior, however, I do like, the rest (save, perhaps, the front) I cannot stand. Did this guy and Chris Bangel have coffee?

nice murcielago.
they really could have styled it differently. It is way to similar to the murcie. its a murciealgo for guys who dont want to spend a quarter of a million.

If they swapped the 360's engine over to chains they would make enough room to throw in two more cylinders at same bore and stroke as it is now (save on retooling costs, etc.). That would bump the 360 up to 4.5L V10 and I would have to assume that would rape this thing. Personally I think this Lambo is stupid, it is essentially a junior murcielago. Would people be so into the 360 if it was a junior 550?

I like my 360 much more now. Sure, the Gallardo is a tad better in the performance department. But that's expected from an all new car with 2 more cylinders.

With the doors swinging out instead of up, why didn't they call it the Jalpa (rebirth)

Not to bad i guess. Although i do find the rear end alittle bit disappointing(comes to a square). I would never pay big bucks on something that i had to think twice about. For the money they're asking for that vehicle its def. gotta be love at first site.

Thanks for sharing the pics Andrew.

i think it looks pretty good and is yes like a downsized murci though. I will have to see it in person for better judgment but i think i like it so far. And not all Lambo's came with scissor doors obviously but i guess now thats the stigma on the cars now, everyone expects it. nice car though

Where's the stick...? Don't tell me this is a damn F1 transmission, i'll be pissed...

i'm not that disapppointed, i like it- i AM disappointed though, that the front looks just like the Murcielago- like Jim said, it looks just it, squashed... The back is different, so i like that... i was looking forward to scissor doors, too... oh well... End Result: would i take one...? HELL YEAH...! :-)

looks just like a squashed murci. why doesn't lambo make different models that appeal to diff ages/demographics ala 360, 550, 456, enzo?
