I find it entertaining that people are playing the little boycott game. Those products may see a slight dip in sales, but it's nothing that can't be helped out by posting a "buy these products" list on anti-war groups. The American people have never been known for doing things that make their lives less convenient.

A good example is using less petroleum products. I can't honestly say I've seen anyone try to make a difference there.

now france says they will use the un to control the rebuilding of iraq and will not let the us or uk direct it....think again jacques.

17:21 21Mar2003 RTRS-UPDATE 1-Chirac sets strict terms for post-war U.N. role

(Adds Powell, Blair comments, meeting with Blair, background)
By Sophie Louet
BRUSSELS, March 21 (Reuters) - French President Jacques Chirac, a staunch opponent of war in Iraq, said on Friday the United Nations must be at the centre of efforts to rebuild the country whatever the outcome of the conflict.
He ruled out any retroactive U.N. blessing for the U.S.-led war to oust President Saddam Hussein or any resolution that gave Washington and London post-war administrative control in Iraq. "This idea of a resolution seems to me to be a way of authorising military intervention after the event, and so is not, in my point of view, fitting in the current situation," Chirac told a news conference.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair earlier said London wanted two new U.N. resolutions setting up a trust fund to use Iraqi oil wealth to rebuild the country and creating a post-Saddam administration.
"France would not accept a resolution which authorises military intervention and gives the United States and Britain administrative powers in Iraq," Chirac said.
"Whatever the results of the military operation...it must be rebuilt, and for that there is just one forum -- the United Nations," he added.
Some commentators in France fear that the United States will now dominate the process of reconstruction of Iraq.
Responding to Chirac's remarks, U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said the United States was consulting with members of the U.N. Security Council "as to what is appropriate as we move forward".
"All I know is that the liberation of Iraqi is under way and we want to do it in a way that will demonstrate to the world that we come as liberators, that we're going to put in place a better life for the people of Iraq, a representative form of government," Powell said.
"We're going to use the assets of the people of Iraq, especially their oil assets, to benefit their people...and I hope that France will want to be a partner in such an effort but that remains to be seen," he added.
France threatened to use its Security Council veto to ensure the U.S.-led war would not receive U.N. endorsement, prompting Washington and London to withdraw earlier this week a planned resolution opening the way for the use of force.
Instead, they took military action on what they said was the legal basis of past U.N. resolutions mandating the disarmament of Iraq.
Chirac said he had held a brief personal meeting with Blair on the sidelines of Friday's session of a European Union summit, conveying France's condolences for the deaths of the first British soldiers killed in the war in a helicopter crash.
But he stressed he did not voice any regret for his firm anti-war stance.
"I recalled that France has a different position from Britain on Iraq which it has no intention of changing in any way," he said.
But he added: "I don't see the British as some kind of adversary. Tomorrow, we will have to be together to continue the European adventure. Europe has never been a bed of roses."

jim, here is a suggestion for your trip: italy, spain, or in a pinch belgium.
the food is great, the wine is great, the sites are great, the museums are great, the weather is nice, the people are nice, the flights are probably pretty cheap too.
and at the end of it you will probably not be remembering all the rude people giving you for being an american.

Jim... not that i'm in total agreement with your wife, but i think it's cool that she's sticking by what she believes in, even if it's an inconvenience for her, but i'm just wondering...

...couldn't she just keep the reservation and not serve wine...? Just wondering, not trying to start a big political debate (there's already one going on... :-))

I hope we cancel all the French and German contracts first thing. No reason to give money to "non allied allies"
