Over-exaggerate your looking. On my test they said I didnt look when in reality I was looking with small head movement to be safer...so...fake it. MOVE BIG! |

One other thing they are very sticky about(well in Canada anyway) is the parking brake. Make sure when you park the car at the test center, set the parking brake. When you go to start the test, put your foot on the brake select "drive" and then release the parking brake. A friend of mine did that in the wrong order and they failed him on the spot. Oh ya...and the parking brake must work or you will not be allowed out of the parking lot!! |

But it's still a 94. Why not 100? Could not get it done? J/K. Congradulations. If you ever find yourself in So Cal, Drop me a line and i'll let you drive the f-car. and no, I am not joking |

you dont even have to look, just move your head about, to give the appearance that you are looking. The key is no to be tense. The hardest part for me was keeping both hands onthe wheel. When i am just driving normaly, i rarely use two hands. oh yeah, dont hit a curb parallel parking or you will probably fail. this happened to a few peole i know. its better to be a little far from the curb rather than hit it. |

Before my (first) test, I said to the instructor, "are you ready to take this thing for a spin?" I would advise against it. |

Don't forget before you move the car: 1 Seatbelt on 2. Mirrors adjusted. 3 Seat adjusted 4. As you move away from the curb, be sure to visibly look first, use your turn signal to indicate you are entering traffic and proceed slowly. 5. Now relax and drive it the way you have been driving since you got your permit. Take three deep breaths and relax--relax--relax. Go have fun and best wishes. |

Good luck, Brian. When changing lanes, think Mirror, Mirror, blindspot. Tear it up!

Donr forget to look ovber your shoulder when making a 3 pt. turn. this was the only thing the DMV guy said i didnt do correctly. So at least move your head around to make give the appearance that you are looking. What state do you live in? in NY when you turn 16 you can get your permit, then you can schedule a road test after taking a 5 hour classroom course. 2 years ago the road test became pass or fail, not based on points. The instructor could pas you or fail you at his DEScretion. |

They dont provide a car here. I am taking it in my moms QX4. Its that or a BMW 745i, or a 94 Jeep. I know the most about the QX4, so I am planning on taking it in that car. The jeep is also more difficult to drive WELL than the QX4. |

do it in the car they provide; if they don't provide one, do it in a small (non descript) car (makes parking easier). stay super calm. look everywhere before making any turns. remember the worst thing that can happen is that you have to take it over again. |

Im going to take my drivers test today at 1:00 PM central time!! Yesterday was the big 16, and today is the day, make or break. Anyone have any good words of wisdom. I fear that when someone is watching everything I do, I may screw up or question what I am supposed to do. I am already scared!! |
