Thank you very much to everyone for there comments, this will help. Brian and cruising, I will check out Maui. Actually that is where I have always wanted to go is Hawaii, I just heard that it is extremely expensive-any pointers on what to expect to pay for about a week with food and drink? You can email me directly if you would like. I just want this to be very special and very memorable wherever I go. One more thing, where should I go to get reservations-I have been using expedia, should I go to a travel agent? |

I settled for an "all inclusive" in Cancun when the racerchicks were meeting up for a New Years Celebration. I had inititally wanted to stay at the Ritz but had to take in consideration everyone's budget. BIG MISTAKE The food was horrible, the place crowed and noisy - I should of offered to pay the difference and stay at the Ritz. This was just a vacation - YOU are on your honeymoon - a once in a lifetime (hopefully) adventure so go all out - you'll be glad you did. |

Rent a Jeep and drive to the ruins by yourself. Easy to find and a great day trip. There is a little local restaurant just outside of the ruins that serves great lunch for pennies. This is more the adventurous day and definetely worth it. No bussing with tourists. Just walked through the Ritz. Nice but surely expensive. Question is if you absolutely need that in Cancun. Since you will be drinking heavy all day and night it does not matter if you puke into a $250/night toilet or a $150/night one. have fun |

Kapalua Bay, Maui! By far the nicest place I have ever stayed. It just barely beats the westin resort, st. john, but only because of the temperature |

I have stayed at the Ritz in Cancun - its a really nice hotel but I would not call it over the top, they have a nice big pool and jacuzzi and a nice slice of beach. You still get all the vendors coming up to you on the beach. The resturant is nice but expensive so are the drinks but thats the ritz for you. They don't have a hotel golf course but there are two nice ones a short taxi ride away. If you are set on Cancun it is the nicest hotel there - one caveat I was there 5-6 years ago. I would mention they can offer a nice romantic dinner under a tent on the beach for two which I am sure is popular for honeymooners |

i stayed at the camino real which was nice. definetely for adults. went to see the fiesta americana which was beautiful with huge pool etc, but did look a little more touristy. the ritz is probably quite good. |

I feel there is only one real answer. Hyatt Regency Maui. I'm honeymooning there in June. It certainly meets your guidlines. Good luck. |

The Ritz Carlton in Cancun? This is for a Honeymoon, not really concerned with all-inclusive package. I want a very nice hotel a view of the ocean, hotel with a beach, good service, and good food. I looked this up on expedia.com and it looked very nice, I am looking to go the begining of September. Any other suggestions welcomed within these guidlines. |
