91-94 were coupes (w/ black top, color matched cars have been resprayed). The 95-96 cars are kind of, well, chocolate teapots; heavy, not as structurally rigid, and for a few more tohusand you can have the updated, six-speed, '97 NSX. You can get a '97 NSX for mid 40's US currency. 91-92's can be had for low 30's ( a really clean one), and 94's (which I'd suggest; updated wheels, no widonw reg. issues, no snap ring, etc.) can be had for mid 30's (again, a clean example). Have a PPI done, and make sure you get a car w/ service records; if the clutch and/or timing belt need to be done deduct 2,ooo of the asking price for the clutch, and 1,2oo for the timing belt and water pump. Also, if you get a 91 or 92 make sure you have the rear alignment updated (extreme toe settings from the factory cause rapid tire wear) to 94 or later specs. Good luck, and email me should you have more/specific questions. Again, NSX v. C5 the NSX, overall, is a MUCH better and fulfilling car. Enjoy.

I don't think you can get a 91 or 92 NSX with the T-top. I think they where all hard top at that point. With that old of a car, you will have no warranty(even though the acrua is very reliable), and it will be hard to find one with somewhat decent milage on it. I would say if it is for a "around town car" go with the regular C5.

NSX feels great. C5 seems to have less feel.

Given the choice between everything you've listed, the NSX all the way.

I don't think there is any wrong answer here, due to the fact that both cars are fantastic. However, The NSX-T is more "exotic" of the 2 since it is more rarely seen than any flavor C5. I see about a dozen C5s in a daily commute but it's been months since I saw an NSX. Try 'em both and see which you enjoy more!

Get the NSX. It has MUCH better fit and finish, rides better, looks better, will definitely last longer, better and more comfortable interior, and is rarer.

Maybe I should explain further... My Ferrari is my special car that I take on weekend trips and cruises through the countryside etc, The Maserati is my business car that I drive to meetings, clients places and on business trips etc, and write off for tax purposes, then the BMW is my winter car and for rainy days and running errands etc around time when its bad weather, finally the 'Vette is for driving around town when the weathers nice, its for running errands etc but only in nicer dry weather, and I'm finding the power too much to comfortably drive aroud every day on errands, so I'm buying a stock C5 or an NSX to take its place...

"Get a 97+ ( 3.2 liter motor, 6 speed, better brakes, etc.) they're rated at 290 hp, but if you browse NSX dyno data you'll see that Honda was a bit coy w/ the rating. "

I'm looking more for a 91 or 92, because its kind of my bash around town car, and I'm not spending more than 50K U.S, I don't want another 100K+ exotic...

The vette will be faster than the NSX in all catagories. The vette is NOT just a straight line performer, it does everything. it will also last a very long time, and you will get better gas milage on the highway probably.

NSX. It'll outlast the vette as well, since the engine will go forever.

The NSX is phenomenal, the only c5 that will come close (on paper only mind you) is a z06. With regard to driver feel, expereince, and overall enjoyment the NSX will win hands down. Further, the chassis feel is far more crisp than the c5 as are the outputs and communication provided to the driver. You'll also enjoy the MR layout in the NSX while the c5 is the conventional FR.

John,

Ask yourself what you want in the car first. Straight line performance doesn't seem to be something that you care about if this car is too fast. What do you want in it?

Having driven both a stock C5 and a NSX, I will tell you will be disappointed with the power level with both after getting out a supercharged C5, the feeling of driving in sand comes to mind. But all aorund, the NSX is a great car, older models don't have the grunt that the newer ones have. I forgot which year they increased the size of the engine? The C5 is also a great all around car. I would think it owuld be more daily driver friendly.

Hi,

I have a C5 (supercharged) and I am going to sell it (too much power for me) and either get a stock C5 or an older NSX, I know the C5 is faster and more powerful, but which is an all around better performing car?

Thanks,
John
