There is some factory tuner Mercury Marauder, reviewed in Autoweek, i think, about a month and a half ago, had mega launch capability, all blacked-out looking, stealth cop car thing. No spotlight, though. |

FWIW, the Lincoln LS shares the same platform as the Jaguar S-Type (along w/ the upcoming next gen Mustang). If the Jaguar S-Type is on your list, then the LS may just offer better value (i.e. Camry vs ES300). Michael.

I used to sell them. They were ok, but for the money I would go with a European sport sedan. They didn't seem as well screwed together as the Euro competition, but they were alright. They make a nice option if you have to drive an American car. They are the sportiest of the American made sedans, IMHO. |

The new Caddy CTS-V is supposed to be Caddy's version of M3 (w/ 4 doors). Preliminary testing has it clocking better times than the M3 around the Nurbergring (sp?). More on topic, The V8 cooks (540 teritory), the V6 is a bit of a dog. |

I owned one of the first LS cars delivered to Austin, Texas. I sold the Navigator because I wanted a 'car' again. It was a 2000 model (V8 with sport package). I use past tense because it was totaled two years ago after being hit by a pickup. The car was a great driver - low, extremely well weight balanced, and a good amount of power (I've heard the V6 is wanting in this area). The thing I never understood is why they wouldn't offer the manual transmission with the V8 - only the V6. The LS is the only Lincoln I'd consider. My $0.02 |

I drove the sportier one (the LS?). I thought it handled pretty well and was well appointed. Esp today with the deals Ford is offering I think it would be a good value. I believe you can get a 5 speed in one if you want. The new Caddy (CVX?) The four door edgy one is soon coming with a bigger engine and you may want to compare the LS with that. A friend has a new Caddy which I rode in and seemed very well built. Best Jim |
