dear david mcgee, the thread started by asking people's opinions of this car; so i gave mine. you are free to give yours too. i can assure you that i am not attempting to aggrandize my own purchases by belittling other makes. i happen not to like the looks of this new caddy, and i certainly don't like the lexus 2 seater. do i need to express that opinion apologetically or in a more p/c manner so that i don't risk ruffling your feathers? not bloody likely. and furthermore, i am not alone in my categorization of the lexus as a pos. virtually every car mag that reviewed that car voiced a similar opinion. |

The Caddy Cien supercar rocked, too bad they'll never build it. Caddy needs some1 with Ballz to produce some wild cars like the Cien. That would do wonders for their image |

I'm not a fan of Caddy's new direction of angular styling. The cars look to me like unfinished concept designs. I hope it's a winner for them, but I'd still go with the 'Benz as well. |

The Allante was a lot better looking than the XLR but GM screwed it up by releasing it before it was mature. My Uncle has a 500 Cid '76 Caddy roadster, Now THATS a car The current T Bird is a lot better looking also |

I truly don't understand people who feel they must speak of another make as if it is trash to justify their own tastes. I can honestly say I'll probably never buy a domestic automobile as long as I live, but I don't refer to them as "POS". "Lexus POS"? now that's an oxymoron. |

just fugly. the only people buying this are the diehard 'buy american' crowd with white hair and no esthetic values. the only thing that looks worse than this is that lexus pos. |

Too bad it doesn't have a back seat because that would be a good place to fall asleep after looking at the boring angular styling which resembles a block of silver soap that's been chopped with a carving knife.

Beautiful car, definetly a step in the right direction- and a welcomed change to the SL500 for the country club crowd. |

It still a big step for GM and cadillac, which was until a few years ago, moribund. |

Angular styling aside, I find it hard to believe it'll be as good as the Mercedes. Time will tell. The Northstar is a nice engine. What I don't like about the Mercedes is that its 5 liter engine does not put our enough power. They could do better. My 400E puts out 68 hp/liter which is more than the new SL puts out. |

Will the XLR be as outstanding as people hope for? I know the latest addition of Car and Driver doesn't think so.
