Sorry to hear about the interruption!

There's medication to combat the allergy and with time, your body could adjust on its own. I grew up with cats the hard way. I had to take a pill at least half hour prior to contact with them. It took a couple years of not taking the pills. No more allergy.

The liquid, or one brand anyway, is called Frontline. Unbeatable for months of solid protection, but its a tad expensive for flea control. Cat and dog formulations. Squeeze the little eyedropper size plastic "vial" onto the scruff of the neck and let it soak in that day. No fuss, collars, gadgets, etc.

If it's any consolation, you got further than I would have... I'm extremely allergic to cats, and after 5 minutes in her place would have been sneezing too bad to even have the conversation!

This girl and I had gone out twice before. Last night we had dinner, drove around the Parkway, and then came back to her place. Had a great kissing session on the porch before going inside.

Once inside she picks up her cat and finds of all things a tick. I remove and flush the tick and she gets some kind of pet med for cats that you put on the back of the cats neck. It is a liquid and you drop it on the fur.

I have never seen anything like this and ask about it. She tells me the cat cant reach back there to wipe it off, so the goop soaks into the skin then matriculates through out the cats body, making the cat "taste bad" to bugs and thus keeping them off the puss. I marvel at this, and then....boom....

"Wow, thats neat, I wonder how many cats they had to dissect to get the right dispersion rate?"
