I'm no expert, but are the days gone when each individual can be responsible for themselves. I think most laws are nothing more than to protect the dumb. I do many dumb things, but I learn from them. People need to use more common sense and their God given intellect. I don't take any black and white text as 100% accurate. No one knows the 100% truth unless you experience it first hand. Just look how history has evolved as classroom texts have been edited, reedited, and censored.

I don't believe in most lawsuits, because the blame should be shared.

I would also go after the Miami Herald. The weather forecast is for sunny skies and 85F and it is partly cloudy and 88F.

What were they tinking?

so lets also sue the INQUIER. That Bigfoot story can not be possibly true. I doubt that Suzanne Summers is an alien. Now here is some good reporting.

if news media were financially liable for the validitiy of their reports it might make them think before the rush to the presses.

another typical "lets sue for settlement"-story. Some scheister attorney will get rich doing it and the NYT will pay up because it is cheaper to do just that instead of squashing they in court at possibly double the cost setting and example to the rest to just come and try!

Sad times!

What do you think about the class action lawsuit against the NY TIMES claming that because so much of it was fiction that those who bought it are entitled to a refund as the Times did not use reasonable care to insure that the articles by their reporter were not fabricated inspite of an internal memo that said "This reporter should be stopped now" ?
