Thanks everyone for the medical info. I'll be talking to the orthopedist next week. |

JEFF: Depends on your useage, age, etc. Make sure that you get someone who does nothing but shoulders if you decide to fix it. In Northern California Tom Norris is well known and only does shoulders. I used him when I last crashed. Art |

I'm a radiologist. A small tear of the rotator cuff as shown is probably not a surgical issue. The acromion bends down and may be causing constriction of the adjacent tendon (supraspinatus). I would need the films to be sure. Doesn't seem to much of a problem from what you are saying from the report. But as always see what the orthopedist has to say. |

have a similar tear in my shoulder. the doc said even if he did surgery there was only a 70pct chance of full and permanent recovery. since i am not a professional sportsman, i decided to pass and have worked on it with a physiotherapist. |

I had an MRI done on my shoulder. I will see an Ortho surgeon next week. Is sugery the only way to repair the damage? Here's the MRI summary. 1. Small partial thickness tear along the articular surface of the DISTAL SUPRASPINATUS TENDON over approximately 10-20% tendon width, extreme anterior in position. 2. Type 111 acromion with inferior hook. Thanks for any opinion. |
