I've had nothing but good experiences with Sprint PCS. I used to have cingular and if you think Sprint's customer service is bad don't sign up for cingular because you'll end up pitching up a tent in the roof of their corporate building with a sniper rifle. Verizon was not much better, but was a little better. Sprint so far has been the best I've had. If there's a coverage hole, there's nothing you can do. It's not like other carriers don't have that either. Having said all that, it's time for a bit of a reality check. When is the last time any telephone carrier's customer service made you jump in joy? Waits are unavoidable, just be glad they don't take as long as banks or cable companies.

Yes my wife works for Sprint PCS, but she doesn't need to and I don't have the company's success as my best interest when I write this. I value my phone conversations. I do a lot of business in them since I don't go to my office much at all. I trust the best for me and so far it has been Sprint PCS. I would jump to any other provider in a heartbeat if I felt they were better, which is why I have all these experiences (I shopped around by actually subscribing). The wife got the job after we settled a little bit in the Bay Area, so it was after I decided on Sprint PCS.

Cheers

I tried to use Sprint, but there is a hole in thier coverage right over my house (and I'm less than 1-mile from one of their towers!!). I switched for about 2-weeks, got tired of the dropped calls and went back to VoiceSteam (at the time). They gave me my old number back, and treated me like I never left. Sprint on the other hand was a pain in the ass. Fortunately my company did a lot of work for Sprint at the time and a VP there got me hooked up with a Executive Service rep and I got all my money back.

For a while, Sprint had "Claire," your automated customer service representative.

What an absurdity! (in a nice, soothing woman voice), "I'm sorry, I didn't recognize your response." UGGHHH!!!

I've never felt more like as a customer than at that moment.

I'm now T-mobile. Funny thing is, I keep my sprint phone. Even though I don't get service, it will connect to their network AND sync up the time on the phone... Instant travel alarm clock (and reliable, too!). SCREW YOU SPRINT!

I didn't know that Sprint had customer service! Is it a special number that they don't normally give out?

Honestly, I have Sprint and the Voice Command works great from my car. I press one button on the steering wheel and everything else is by voice. I can't imagine going back to having to dial the phone in my car. And, I like the free Concierge and Assist program for the 1st 3 years!

Sprint PCS? LOL!!! On the road it works fine, but in Houston I get a bunch of dropped calls, poor signals, late voice mails, etc... Also, you gotta love that customer service.

I think its Verizon. Most important though is what carrier has the best service in Your area. I hated Sprint but in eastern Ct where some friends lives it works great.

Jeff,
I have that issue on my desk at home. Send me a private e-mail with your address and I would be happy to copy the article and mail it to you.

I've had aerial/voiceSteam/t-mobile for 5-years and only had 1 or two dropped calls. Never had problems with billing or service and when I wanted to upgrade, they gave me a $100 credit towards a new phone b/c I was a loyal customer.

The only bad thing is they are all digital so if you roam outside of a major city or highway, you'll get no signal. It's just never been a problem for me b/c everywhere I've gone so far has had service.

Before a few weeks ago, i would've said Sprint, hands down, list or no list... Now i'm pretty pissed and Sprint is not really on my ":-)" list.

However, i can't ever imagine AT&T being on any list except a list. :-)

A few months ago, Consumer Reports rated the top 5 cell phone companies. Does anyone have that list? I can't remember the top 2. I thought AT&T was 3rd.
