Taek, I think I even more of a bonehead than you in this regard.

I have so many DVDs and VCDs that I have lost count. There are many DVDs and VCDs that I have bought months ago and are still wrapped up and unopened.

Funny things is that I don't even watch much TV, DVDs, VCDs anymore. Fchat and online games have seen to that, but I still have an urge to buy those things when I am in the shop. I think I need help big time...

I only own one DVD - Boiler Room.

I watch it probably 5-6 times a month. My favorite movie.

1) yes, Netflix rules! best of all if you happen to see a movie that sounds good you can put it on your list and not think anything of it until it comes. I currently have 35 movies.

2) Do it all the time. Love Ferris Bueller and have the tape, but never watch it; when it comes on tv, I'm there.

Red,

I have an unenviable sometimes virtue you lack that puts you above my situation.

See...I'm lazy. And horribly irresponsible when it comes to mailing stuff, and returning stuff. Hence I praise the Gods of electronic bill pay and my secretary gets a big fat Christmas basket every year and flowers from time to time.

As for home theater I don't have a pimpin' system that would make much of a difference. Saw how much a hard core system would cost and got easily discouraged.

Thanks for the advice though!

I gotta drop by pay you a visit one of these days. You're not too far from Foster City!

Cheers

Taek..

I cant do that. If its on HBO and I have the movie, I will get better sound and picture throught my DVD player, and being super anal about that stuff, I see it on TV, and put it in the player. And then I can get another beer midway through the movie as well.

Another good idea, NETFLIX. They are so incredibly easy to use, and since they are located in the bay area, I get a movie on Monday, watch it, put it in the mail on tuesday, and have another one thursday. Now, heres the cool thing, you get 3 movies at a time for the most common package, so, you can space it so you almost get a new movie a day. $22. a month, after watching the 4.54th movie of the month, its paid for. And you get unlimited movies a month. Sorry to rant and steal the thread...But it works great!!!

All in good fun eh DrS.?

Don't know about the storm trooper one. There were other really funky characters in that trilogy. Weren't the tie fighter pilots dressed in a black beefed up storm trooper gear? Those were pimp.

>>No, you are the only one....<<

Somehow this doesn't feel threatening from someone who dresses up as a storm trooper.

Mike, then I'm a double idiot.

I don't have enough to call a collection and they sit because I always see them on cable. Yet I still buy at a slow rate.

I'm glad I'm not the only moron though. :-)

I can't stop buying DVD's. I have about 300 now.

Whenever I see a show starting or playing on TV, it sparks my attention and I'll put in the movie. It works out pretty good, since movies are usually censored some on TV.

I don't buy DVDs! See, my reasonsing is this. There's no reason to buy DVDs, unless it's a hobby and/or you want to have a collection.

What's the point in having just one DVD? Nothing! But, having a whole collection--THEN you have something to talk about, to take pride in.

And there's value in that for some (I've got some good friends who own 100+ many DVDs). But not for me. Seems like a waste of money to me.

But then I think, their entire DVD collection has cost them, say, $2000 in five years or so of collecting (and isn't worth half that if they were resold).

Now, compare that to what I've spent on my 308 this year alone! Thinking about it that way puts it in a different perspective.

That said, I do *drive* my 308 more often than they watch a DVD! :-)

Saw Spiderman in the movie theater. Loved it. DVD comes out so I buy it. I have since watched it 4 times. Catch is...every time I've seen the movie it has been on HBO/Cinemax/whatever. I find myself eating my Subway sandwich (yummy) watching Spiderman on HBO for the fifth time.

Total time I've viewed the DVD I bought: 0.

Cheers from a moron.
