Something like this Kenny... Yesterday, I attended the 16th Annual European Car Show in
St. Louis, MO. It was coordinated/organized by local car clubs (Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus, etc.) for a common goal which was to raise $'s and donate the proceeds to a pediatric (children's) facility nearby. 165 cars were exhibited (not enough space for more) and respective owners paid $20 for each car they entered. The show was a success!

Gonna have to talk to Mount Pleasant about that lot, as its not in white plains. I dont know the supervisor of mt pleasant, but the foreman bruce is a pretty nice guy, but the most he could do it put you through to the supervisor. Im over at their garage once or twice a summer picking up or dropping off equipment for a diesel tractor that we share with them. Actually, thats a county park, so you'll have to talk to the westchester county dept of parks. A better idea is the Chappaqua train station lot, that lot is big, and empty on weekends, and im sure new castle wouldnt mind if you used it, but they might not provide services like trash cans, etc. Also, if a BBQ were involved it would probably work out better.
Honestly though i cant see a big turnout for a show that isnt well established. you are better off organizing a non-car related fundraiser. Its a little late for you, but maybe a highschool thing or more of a community thing, on a smaller scale than what it seems you are planning.
Also, on saturday nights during the summer, all the cars are 2 miles down the road at the cruise night at Rose Hill. That gets a turnout of at least 100 cars each sat. night.

You'll find a lot of great charities which FChatters have a connection with.

I saw Dave's (Maranelloman) post too. Pretty inspiring. I was thinking of doing the same (not same event, but same sort of thing), but you beat me to it (see second post made by me on the thread). Let's see how it goes for you, and I'll probably wait a bit and do one over here on the left coast.

Cheers

I need a charity that is relatively easy to work with and has a good reputation/cause to plan a charity car show around. I've talked to various F-chatters and everyone loves the idea and are very willing to contribute/join. I am in the midst of planning and am up for any suggestions and help!

As of right now I am trying to contact the City of White Plains to reserve the Kensico Dam on a Saturday or Sunday in August (this is just one of the many locations I have settled on). I have various sponsors who have either made oral commitments or are interested. I need MAJOR help with this event and would appreciate anything.

Email me at [email protected] if you're interested.

Edit: The event should/will be in the NY/NJ/CT Tri-state area.
