Nope, i didn't feel it was appropriate to impose myself on him when i met him, but since we now do some work for his company, i'll probably use those channels to ask for a tour.

The funny thing is that ImClone is refiling its application for Erbitux!

I am at a loss with the anti-Martha crowd. This woman's accomplishments are incredible. And her success was built on the premise of showing people how to live a more gracious, civilized and enjoyable existance.

This apparently makes a lot of (inadequate) people very defensive. They seem to interpret everything MS says and does as an arrogant and elitist indictment of their own lifestyle. Of course it is just not so.

Schadenfreude? MS is the poster child for Schadenfreude.

I realize that. Wasn't she on the board of the NYSE at one point? It amazes me that it happened...and over such a piddly amount too. But cmon folks...

Second that comment about the anti-money attitude in this country. That plus schadenfreude.

But being a broker once herself, she should have known the repercussions that could follow.

Dude...all of the Martha bashing is out of hand. There are people who have done much worse.

First this tax cut thing, then her (yeah, ok, 250k, she's lost over 200M in valuation over this)...there's a lot of anti-money sentiment in this country.

--Dan

PS: I'm not saying what she did is right... punitive measures are in order, but there's definetly an anti-wealth undercurrent behind part of it

Well, if she does go to jail like she should, she might have trouble creatively decorating her cement cell and cooking tasty holiday dishes.

Are you suggesting that Martha is, in reality, a ricer? Where's the neon lighting? We must see proof!

We did see a great shot on CNN of a red NSX pulling up right in front, when Martha got out of the car to go into court house.

I agree with Jimmy Page, er, Bill, here. It's not the insider trading (if that even occurred) that'll get her; it's the cover-up.

Just like Nixon.

Just like Clinton.

Don't they EVER learn???

I drive by her "farm" in Bedford quite a bit, its not far from Ralph Lauren's place up there. Quite spectacular, from what little you can see from the road; there is a huge greenhouse, and old stone outbuildings, along with newly restored vintage wooden buildings, and all that is only to care for the grounds. There are some great roads in that area and while i have run into Mr.RL there driving an F car, i have yet to see Martha. She's probably too busy watching the stock market.
And by the way, i don't think the insider trading thing is what will ultimately get her; it will be lying to the authorities. My (totally uninformed) take is that they were negotiating for a long time, and, if she is as arrogant as she is reputed to be, the gov't probably got "fed" up (sorry) with her and her lawyers.
Hey, Leona Helmsley did time and came out to be a productive citizen....

i'll take bets, gents. the woman will never see the inside of a jail.

her broker is the serious criminal.

she simply "should have known better" and behaved improperly. she'll plead to something and get a whack upside the head and that'll be it.

the broker will plead to something more severe, lose his license, and won't see jail time either.

the smoking gun has the indictment online - an interesting read.

doody.
