I personally think it looks horrendous

$450,000 for a Ford, HELL NO!!

I would rather buy 2-3 Ferrari's instead.. I don't hate the car or the performance, It's just that I can't stomach paying that much for US car.

The overall layout of the car is cool but too many slits, slots and gills. The styling is too 'gimicky'. Trying too hard to put a mean looking 'face' on the car. The rear end of the car is about two feet longer than it really needs to be, throws the look of the car out of balance when viewed from the side.

It's got more cheese graters than an Italian restaurant. Remove the gills and it would look A LOT better.

Car & Driver just tested it, along with other exotics like Enzo, Lambo, etc. They didn't exactly praise it, especially against that competition. IMO, there's too much gill-like louvering on the bodywork.

Jeff_M,

I was in the drivers seat, steering the S7 that was in Bruce ALmighty out of the San Jose car show back in Jan. if that counts for anything?!? We had one on order, and Saleen ended up using it for the slightly larger LA auto show, and so we got stuck with a press/movie car, that had been 2 different colors already...But an awesome car in and out.

The Saleen is a modern GT40, the GT is a retro, Seems like Ford has no imagination these days, everything is retro

Have seen them race at Sebring 12-hours. Also have seen one at both a fast-food restaurant and on the interstate while travelling through Georgia. Looks low and wide, but the cockpit appears to be rather cramped. Very fast (and loud) car too!

P.S. -- Hello DaveL!

Nice car! Nice style and its all about function. Id prefer this to be the epitome of the American Exotic rather than the upcoming Ford GT. Over $100k for a MUSTANG Cobra motor with a blower in that nice GT body Ford is making? BS! They went cheap rather than doing what Saleen has done and created a superb normally aspirated motor with BA--S!!

Haven't driven one yet, but was able to tour the assembly process with Steve as host and was very impressed with the materials/procedures involved. Nice car.

This has come up a number of times (2?) Search the archieves and see.

Personally, from what I hear the gear box is funky/funny.

Thought, despite what others say, I like the styling, save the head lights, but even they are ok. overall and work with the styling...(I just thought they could look more like evil snake/replite eyes and less like just big eyes...that be cool..ok I am rambling.

Anyone have any experience with the Saleen? Saw it in the new movie Bruce Almighty, looked sweeet!
