Charles,

That's pretty good. The one I really want is XX-C.

I used to have that one in Missouri, but here in California they won't let me have it. Not sure why, can't imagine it's out there.

I guess my "4REBOB" license plate is redundantly redundant.

I finally got one for my 308 to reflect the experience of having and driving the car. It reads; SPASSO.
Yeah, that's right, it means spastic............no, not really but I get hit with that a lot and that's the answer I give.

My private plate is lame.. BlackXJ. Its how I describe the car all the time. I drove the black XJ to San Jose and back last week, the other night I was in the black XJ when I saw the 355 spider on the 405 North.. the others were called SableXJ and BlueXJ so I had a theme going amongst my cars.

It's like clothing for me; the vast majority of the clothes in my closet have no visible brand names. But for things I really like and believe in, like say Ferrari - I'm happy to advertise, but not to the point of being ridiculous. The prev. owner put a chrome M license plate on mine, but it's small and I think tasteful.

Don't want a personalized plate because it's too easy to remember just in case I happen to do something stupid...

Vince, yes it is about the same. I assume you are asking that because your 348 is black. Why not do something like "caveman" instead like you have in your profile?

I also think it is stupid. I do like personalized plates though. As a matter of fact I have one myself. I just think if you are going to spend the money on one at least be creative and make a statement with it. I think it is equally silly to use your name on the plate. I see that around here all the time. It's kinda like wearing a name tag on your shirt.

To me it's as stupid as people who buy license plate frames that tell you what brand of car they drive. In my opinion it's like your saying I didn't spend enough on the car here let me pay to advertise it for you.
I don't let the dealer put their paper plates when we buy new cars . I order my cars without any emblems if I can.
I even took the prancing horse off the back of my 360.

Robin,

My cousin has done the exact thing. He has an SLK 230 with sports package. He stuck an AMG badge and his license plate says SLK AMG.

Here's another redundancy.

A front license plate with a big 3 point star or Roundel logo .... I dont get it. Is it because the owner is not satified with a little ornament on the hood? hehehe

Does redundant Logos apply here like Cavallino
Carpet matts,Cavallino shields,Cavallino baseball caps,.....underware

etc....

It's all BAD!!!!!!!!! But most of us do it.

Yeah I know, I've seen it around for years, but he seems to have made it his own lately.... :-)

Back on topic, I agree that it's pretty lame to put the kind of car you're driving on your license plate. It's kind of like those guys who put a big "Honda" sticker across the windshield of their Civic. It's as if they feel the need to make it extra clear what kind of car they're driving, just in case you maybe thought Civics were made by Aston Martin...

On the other hand, I can't count the number of pimped up Neons around here with a license plate that somehow references Vipers. I've seen MINIVPR, BABYVPR, VPR2B, etc ad nauseum... one of my old roommates had a Neon with a license plate "NOTAVPR"...

Guy in my neighborhood has a M-B CLK 430... he stuck an AMG badge on it, and has a license plate that says "CLK AMG"... I'd like to print out Dave's A$$clown award and stick it on his window.

Well, I once saw "SXULDV8" on a white Rabbit convertible in L.A. being driven by an absolutely RAVISHING brunette.

I was single then, and really wished I had been able to find out if, in fact, that plate was redundant...

Yesterday I saw a MB sedan tuned by Brabus. I know this because there was a Brabus badge in very, very large letters on the back trunk. The license plate also said "BRABUS." On Friday I saw a yellow C5 corvette (no body mods) with the plate "CRVETTE".

Is it just me or is it a waste of a personalized plate when you put the same information on the plate that's already on the car?
