The TBi ride starts only about 7 miles from my house, so I ride there and they happen to ride back by my house, so it works out with no driving. Most of my USCF was the Plano Tue. night crit, although I did HnH a few times. I loved the crit racing. I would go down about twice a year, but that was part of it. I loved to get off the front as I usually didn't do well in a 50 up pack sprint. Good luck in your first crit. It took me awhile to get use to the pace. It's so easy to get dropped when the pack is averaging 25-27 mph. |

I'm unattached at the moment. Just started racing this year after years of neglecting the body, so at the Cat 4/5 level there's not much reason to be associated. So now I ride 6-7 days a week and aim to improve. Don't do any group rides since I hate driving to get to a ride (though I'll do it for a race). Tonight is my first ever crit (Memorial Park Houston). Swore I was going to do them since they aren't the safest races and I broke a hip in a trainng ride last year. Just doing crits so I can upgrade to 4 quicker. |

LOL - small world. Haven't rode much in about 3 years, I use to ride for Matrix. Last Tuesday did the group ride for the first time. Last night went a little better, hung to the first group for about 10, then the second group for about 15, and then it was survival mode. Hard to jump in a 35 mile training ride and keep up after not riding for so long. I love cycling and hope to get a few USCF races in later this year. I mainly just run, but will do the Tuesday ride for 4-5 weeks and then maybe add the Saturday ride. The Mineral Wells ride looks awesome, I can't wait to get back in shape. Who do you ride for? David Moore is a big cyclist too, he just did a 12 hour mountain bike race. |

Saw a post at www.txbra.org from a Rob Lay, doing the TBi ride. Hmmm, that's DFW area. Doesn't take this rocket scientist long to figure out there may be a connection there. Good luck getting in riding shape again. I'll be up there for the Mineral Wells Road Race and Alvarado Time Trial at the end of the month. The MWRR looks to be a great course. Hopefully I won't waste too much energy on that one and have nothing left for the next day's TT. Know anyone selling bike racks for 308s? |
