I don't like today's country music. I'll take artists from before I was born anyday however. I really appreciate the 30-60s era of country music. Great stuff.

Tony, what do you do for a living? It says self employed in your profile, but I am curious as to where you come from and what you do.

I was told a long time ago that it was impossible to use the words country and music in the same sentence. I've tried listening to it off and on over the years and it is just too depressing.
The best I can do is 'The Cowboy Junkies'.
Good music and INTELLIGENT lyrics.

Mr Hart,

I am not trying to be provocative. I post questions which I want to hear peoples opinions.

I admit the topic " Time of the month" was
not appropriate. If this offended you, I am
sorry.

Not analyzing, just asking, cause your questions, like what do you do when your wife is on the ***, my friends think 308 owners are snobs, etc. seem a little provocative without any real context. In other words, people get into heated debates here all the time, but it does seem that the posts you have initiated are a little strange. I'm not against strange; and if you are not trying to be provocative, i may be wrong in calling you on it. But, that's why i asked.

I too was a country music bigot, until I heard Toby Keith's "you ain't much fun (since I stopped drinking)" After that I'm kinda convert. Yes, a lot of the songs are hokey, but there's a fair number that, oddly enough, rock. Another fine choice: Confederate Railroad's "I like my women a little on the trashy side"(self-explanatory) Brad Paisley's "I'm gonna miss her" (guy chooses fishing over girl)

So now Garth, Brad and Toby sit there on my cd shelf alongside The Donna's, Dead Milkmen, Marilyn Manson, Meatloaf, GNR, etc. OPEN YOUR MINDS FOLKS!!

Mr Hart,

I am just asking a simple question. Why are you
trying to analyze me. Did I do something to
offend you. If I did I so humbly apologize!

Hey, Tony, i'll bite. What's your beef? Does this site irk you in some way? Is there something you would like to contribute? Please note i am not asking this facetiously. It just seems that your posts are more than a little offbeat, and while everybody (mostly, i think) has a sense of humor, you seem to be interested in bringing something else out? What's up? Fair Question?

It was undeniably popular and a huge money maker, like the pet rock and platform shoes. Sorry for the negative comments........just having a flashback.

Research the best seller list of 1, 5, 10 years ago, listen to some clips, calculate some album sales numbers and maybe form an opinion on your own?
