I guess the only lucky part is that I might have a chance of being ready to start class again at the end of August.

This stuff is nasty!

I had it when i was in law school, apparently contracted it in London, disregarded the symptoms for a while, was hospitalized for a couple weeks. Left me weak for 6 months or so. It still shows up in my blood work, almost 25 years later. Strange connections with certain types of hepatitis, epstein-barr, etc. Be careful.

had it in my 30's. lasted 4 weeks; several stages that last a few days each (night sweats, headache, rash, nausea). Only a few days where I was too sick to eat, but never really felt like eating a lot. My recovery was instant once it was gone - back to work in 4 weeks with no relapse. Like Robin, the girl who gave it to me only had mild symtoms for a few days...

I had it late summer before my sophomore year of collage. I had paid my tuition & got a apartment South of Dallas. At first, I didn't even know I had it. I was getting ready to move when I almost colpsed with exhaustion, I was working in a warehouse that summer & partied a little to hard as well. I'd didn't even know how I got it, I had just met a wild blonde or my doctor said mabye from overworking in that warehouse.

I was out for 3 months, I lost 20 lbs, I couldn't food down at all, just drink alot of water. I missed out on the start of school & get this, due to the fact that I paid my tuition fees, they wound only refund 1 half of the money! The only thing to do was just watched cable TV,play SEGA Genesis, read alot of books, work on my MAC SE 20,
sleep, & sweat all this crap out of my system. Yea, I had it pretty tough. LOL.

Ugh... I had mono a few years ago. I was absolutely rock bottom for 3 weeks and could barely eat or move.. I actually went 7 days where the only thing that went into my body was about 2 or 3 glasses of water. Ended up losing 35 pounds in just over a month. Took about 8 to 9 months to feel 100% again, so yeah.. mono sucked for me. The girl that gave it to me was ok though. Upload

I've heard it's usually atleast a month, but after 2 weeks I stopped with the prednisone and no symptoms came back.

It sucks you stopped going to classes. But there is no telling how long it will last. Ask your doc about prednisone and see what he says. I have military medical, which can be a bit sketchy at times. I've heard of the drug being used for all sorts of problems, it's almost like magic.

Just an idea, but I bet if you bottled up an ounce of mono ridden saliva you could make some money on Ebay.

I had it 3 years ago. Only time I've ever been so sick that I'd rather be at work. The doc gave me Prednisone, great stuff and it hid the symptoms in just a few days.

I couldn't keep food in me and mainly ate soup. Stayed in m apartment for a week and mainly watched TV.

Well, I just found out this morning that I have it. So I pulled out of summer classes for the time being and will be doing a whole lot of sitting around for the next little bit.

Just wondering what kind of experiences any of you guys have had. Also, any tips on books(business related) and such to help pass the time would be great! My current goal is to finish writing a short book, so that will occupy me.

I would say spend more time on F-chat, but my F-chat usage is already getting out of control!
