Actually it doesn't really matter what season/weather conditions there are with those car washes. I worked at the local one and we did our best business in the winter (when it was not snowing, obviously). People just want to get salt, etc. off of their cars. Also, the day after a rain was very good. |

Just don't start it up here in NY - apparently Seattle has seen more sun than us in the last 6 weeks... Sigh... |

Jeff..I looked on the web for CAR WASH. WOW! A lot of vendors selling these systems. It sounds like you have done your homework. I would define the best location and the system you want and try to buy it direct from the manufacturer, not a distributor. For the first time last week, I tried a 'touchless' system and was very impressed. The foam got all the dirt up, nothing but liquids touched my truck and it did a grand job!..Maybe you can make some money after your startup and insurance costs! |

I'm looking at one of those automated car washes where you pay your $$, then have the car roll through the bay. I can buy some land ( or trade some land I have). I've done quite a bit of research on these and I know there is a demand for it here as most people take it to a shop where it takes an hour to get cleaned by staff who don't take great pride in their work. Coin laundry won't work here and neither will vending machines, so I'm looking for something automated that can work for me which won't take too much of my time. |

I'm thinking of installing a car wash because I like the idea of a machine sitting out there making me $$ while I play at the beach. Downside is that the machines cost around 60K a pop and I'd need two of them, upside is that It's a pretty much turnkey business that should allow me to get my investment back within 2-3 years. Any other turnkey ideas that you have used to bring in a little extra $$ on the side? |
