Ramones and Sex Pistols. Edgy to this day. White Stipes are very good.

The best radio station in the nation is 97X out of Oxford, Ohio. WOXY are their call letters. I think they still stream a web-cast, but the bull*_it legislation that the Congress passed recently charing a royalty based on the number of listeners for a webcast may have killed it. If you're ever in South Western Ohio, tune to 97.7, you won't be disapointed.

Stephen, i love Rancid. I cant wait to see them at the Warped Tour this summer (they are the only reason i'm going). Most people only like "...And Out Come the Wolves" but theres alot more to rancid than just that CD. What about operation Ivy? you gotta like them if you like rancid, since its the same guys, only minus lars frederiksen, and with jesse michaels.
Jason, new found glory and good charlotte suck.

NOFX, if you appreciate punk, you will love them. Careful, some of their older stuff sucks. Then you have Rancid, Dead Kennedys, The Decendents, This is Boston not LA, Machine gun edicate, Christ on Parade, and that's just a few I can think of off the top of my head.

The irony is so chilling. Both Rollins and Jello are now corporate motivational speakers. Talk about a turn around.

New music doesn't stink, you just have to know where to find the good stuff. Just the like bands listed, you won't find them on mainstream radio. William, do yourself a favor and tune into KTRU 91.7 (Rice U.). They've got a diverse mix of punk, electronica, classical, jazz, and flat out wierd.

Love the Ramones, my dad went to high school with Iggy Pop (Pioneer High, Ann Arbor), so Jello with DK in Dallas as a teen during the Frankenchrist tour. Currently The Clash is getting piped through my ears. Also like The Cramps.

If you want some new school good stuff, look to bands like Sleater Kinney, The Donnas, heck, even The Foo Fighters.

Don't you love how Iggy Pop's Lust for Life, which is about heroin addiction, is now the theme for a cruise company?

And have you heard the Ramones' tribute album? Offspring's Sedated rocks.
