Jeff, You're right, being prepared always helps, *but* there are far more efficient ways to manage things. --Dan |

I've found that the biggest problem at the Post Office is that people don't know what they want and have to listen to the entire menu two or three times before deciding. The biggest problem at the DMV is that stupid people don't bring the correct paperwork with them and think they can just bluff their way through. Personally, I don't have any problems once I get to the head of the line. |

The best time to go to the DMV is 5 minutes before they close. Its Dr. J & Mr. Hyde, I swear! These people move all day long like they don't have legs, but when its closing time, they will move a line through with amazing speed! |

Nobody likes the DMV. That's a given. But actually the last time I went to renew my license, the two guys working the cameras/laminators were like a stand-up comedic team and had everyone laughing hysterically. It was like the Wayans brothers running the show. Pretty unusual to go to a government office and actually see employees laughing and having fun, plus spreading it to those waiting. |

Bruce, I'm having trouble reading your post... it's not all in caps. What's the deal? Did you finally wear out the Caps Lock button? |

DMV. At the post office I always use their machines, so I don't have to interact with the people. |

I was at both this week. I hate both. There is NO incentive for either of the two entities to move at anything less than a snails pace. Coupled with all of the idle chit-chat the tellers do at the windows, I can see why people go postal! I say, put these people on commission and see how fast we blast through the lines at these inept government hellholes. |
