Just last week I took my friends two kids to see "Finding Nemo" - Super movie!! If any of you are into "cute stuff", good script and awesome animation this is the movie to see. The funny thing is that at least half of the theatre was filled with adults (without kids).
I also rented "Die Another Day" - mixed feelings
Obviously, the special effects and the action sequences are great but I prefer the good old Sean Connery/Roger Moore versions any day of the week. Though Pierce Brosnan makes a pretty good Bond, the movie itself lost a lot of the intelligent plot and suspense. Today's Bond movies put more emphasis on mindless characters/special effects/louder this and bigger that - I don't know, maybe it's just me?
Well one good thing about todays James Bond movies is that at least the tires dont screech when there is a car chase on ice.

I rented Tears of the Sun this past weekend and I was blown away, what a great flick. To get the most out of it you have to put yourself deep in their position and watch it without distraction

Tim,

I saw that too, but from what I understand, IMAX movies are limited to two hours. Not sure why.

Tvrfreak, that's why they call them "stunts" :-)

Datsun260z, I laughed at the price as well. I need to find a mechanic like him!

I saw Lord of the Rings on an IMAX screen with no cuts. It doesn't fill up the whole screen since it's not an actual IMAX movie, the film is just made to run on an IMAX projector at a slightly larger size. Lord of the Rings took up maybe 1/4 of the screen if I had to guess.

Uh I don't know about anything being cut since it is the only time I have seen it. BUT, the movie lasted close to 2 1/2 hours if I recall. They even had the trailer for the next movie after the entire list of credits.

I'm not sure...I haven't seen it on an IMAX screen. There was a whole discussion about this on another board I post on...and they said that since Matrix Reloaded is 2+ hours, something would be cut, and it wasn't the credits.

What did they cut out from the IMAX version? I'm going to go see it at Metreon soon (never got around to it, partly because of the cut).

Hulk was highly disappointing, IMO.

problem with the imax version of matrix reloaded is that an imax film can only be 2 hours long, so part of the movie gets chopped.

I went and saw the HULK. Cool movie, but it's alittle slow in the begining

Just saw "The Matrix Reloaded" at our local IMAX theater. If it comes to an IMAX near you I HIGHLY suggest it!

I just saw a movie from the mid 90's called Arlington Road with tim robbins and jeff bridges. Its about terrorism, but in a different sense than we think about it today. there are no middle eastern people in this movie. The ending pissed me off, but i gotta say i never saw it coming!

Some of the stunts in The Italian Job were pretty implausible too.

I saw "The Italian Job" last night at the movie theater. It was a very good show, but some parts were far-fetched, like it only costing $10,000 to modify four Mini Coopers to carry 2700lbs in cargo and still outrun "anything".

Wifey and I saw Whale Rider last night. Fantastic movie. Good for kids and adults alike. Highly recommend it. It's about a kid growing up in New Zealand's Maori culture.
