Tom: just call me at the office. 212 969 3095. Our firm is just a tad expensive for individuals, so i'm not going to recommend someone from Proskauer. However, there is a guy i know, famous in some circles, 6'6", probably about 400lbs, smokes several packs of menthols a day, who is seriously frightening. Most people underestimate him, cause they think people that large and mean can't also be brilliant. Boy, are they wrong. He's the guy i use when i want to ruin somebody. He is the only lawyer who actually likes to try, rather than settle, toxic waste (Superfund) cases; he does divorces for fun, and when he got sanctioned once for telling the lawyer on the other side to sit down and shut up, he told the judge that he hoped the guy would use the money to go back to school and learn how to take a deposition. My favorite lawyer, and he happens to come from Lon Guy Land. | ||

Tom: Kendall is right. What kind of lawyer do you need? A litigator? Matrimonial? Corporate? Real Estate? Its like asking for a chiropractor when you need brain surgery. The skills are not necessarily the same... .I practice in NYC and know a ton o'lawyers but couldn't recommend without additional info. If you want to send me an IM, do so. | ||

There's a million lawyers out there and on long island alone. I was just looking for someone that has a good recomendation or who is know by someone on here. Thats all.... i can do all the research on the internet i want and find thousands of names but i dont know if there good or recomended.....so thanks for your advie anyway..but if anyone knows anyone on the island or even manhattan that would be appreciated!.. Why don't you make the effort to describe what type of advice it is you're looking for?? Somebody can steer you in the right direction or put in the time to look up lawyers on your own via the internet or yellow pages based on their specialty and concentration...?? | ||
