Hi Mike...Give me the size of your product and I will reply. Can you post a pic ( or email me at [email protected])? We can go with a clamshell, blister card or a box. I also have a US foam vendor dialed in. You can see my current product (that has a clamshell and foam) at www.performancedevices.com. I will get you going very fast! |

PeterS, I don't have time to get in on this idea (already have another business that consumes all waking hours!) but you have mentioned in a few threads now that you know about packaging. I'm thinking of taking my product packaging to "the next level" if you will. Can you educate me some? I talk to companies like Bicknell Fuller and they are happy to make me custom printed cases, die-cut foam packaging, or whatever, but the prices seem high. One of the reasons we've been successful is because we've been able to produce quality without needing to order millions of units, so we started small and grew. But so far, doing the same thing with packaging has eluded me. Maybe you could give me some pointers? What do you say? |

SEE WHAT I MEAN!!!! There is still room for more aftermarket items for the Rice crowd. A few of the ideas here are cheap to make Vs large fiberglass sections, etc. |

Along the same kind of product line. I am toying with the idea of getting a vinyl sign cutting plotter for the 'puter. The cost about $1k. They interface with either a flat bed scanner or a digital pic in a graphics or drawing program like Adobe. I was thinking of cutting fake carbon fiber vinyl panel covers for guage clusters, console plates, etc. The CF look vinyl is readily available. I have a son that is just finishing up his degree in Graphic Design, and I thought I might set him up in a smll biz. I have a friend who retired and he has a respectable income from doing vinyl graphics for boats, trucks, etc. I think there may be a niche in the Sport Import market for these kinds of low cost faux products. |

How about fake nav system screens? Backlight a fake map, at night it would look 'cool'. |

Kinda like that third brake lite everyone wanted to put on their old Impala's. Then it grew into flashing lites on the plate. Then it evolved into the neon lites underneath. Wear do I send my check ? With this dough we are going to make we will be first in line with deposits for the F 70. |

OK..We all are butt-hurt because we missed most of the Ricer bolt-on aftermarket items. Here's an idea that may fly....A few high-end luxury cars have sensors on the rear (and maybe front) bumbers that detect how close they are to an object. These sensors are about the size of a quarter and about 3/16" thick. My idea is to make FAKE sensors that kids can stick to their bumpers...Laughing? In the early 80's, a company came out with a fake cell phone antenna for rear windows. They sold several million. The packaing stated 'For that important look'...If somebody here is serious, I can assist in the packaging. You will need to source the fake sensor, but I will help with the rest. Pete |
