A friend of mine had the windshield replaced on a 2002 Honda Accord. I was surprised that when I sat in the driver's seat and looked off to the right, that there was a noticeable amount of the 'underwater effect' when scanning horizontally only a few inches (about 4"). The artifact was located in a vertical strip - about 25% above and 25% below the center line. I also checked out a few other auto's (all 2000 or newer): - Ford - looked pretty good. there was a 'bump' near the center, although it was over a large area 12-15". - Subaru - Similar to Honda. Have the standards on the transparency changed within the past few years? Does this generally occur on some models more than others? Just wanted to hear your $.02. |
