Thanks for the input guys.I've just been informed by FNA thru SHELTON FERRARI in Fort Lauderdale that my appointment at the Ferrari factory in Maranello is due for March 25th,2002 at 10:00AM.(With a duly note that reads: CAMERAS ARE NOT ALlOWED WITHIN THE FACTORY)Since I will be arriving from MILAN your information is truly useful.BRGDS.

How about a Ferrarichat world conference in Italy soon? Little vino, lotsa food (or is it lotsa vino, little food ?), fast cars and a factory tour Maranello and the other one down the road (LOL). Prize for fastest terminal speed on Autostrada, longest distance travelled......

The normal process is to have your dealer arrange the visit. Last I heard, you either have to be someone famous or an owner. Aside from that, I don't believe you can just show up and get a tour. I did it a few years ago and it was great. The dealer I bought my car from got me the date.

Carl,

I will be in Italy in March. What does one have to do to get a factory tour? I will be visiting the Galleria Ferrari, but would really like to see the factory.

I'm fresh back from a visit to Maranello and all I can say is that its a must for all true tifosi. Visiting the factory was great and the food at the "Cavallino" resturant across the street was delicious. For those going make sure that you visit the "Galleria Ferrari" (the museum). F50, F40 Michelloto, F40 Le Mans prototype, 288 GTO, 275 GTB/4, 250 GT Lusso and a 750 Monza were just some of the cars featured along with new F1 cars as well. Need I say more...

I would estimate the trip from Milan to around 1hr and 20 minutes (flat out in my Alfa Romeo 156 1.9 rental). Just watch out for seemingly supersonic Fiat Puntos!

I just got back from Milan. I had business meetings in the downtown area. (Next to the Cardona rail station) According to the folks that I spoke with Modena is about 1.5 hrs outside of Milan. (They indicated that most of that time is actually spent in city traffic)

I met Valentino Balboni July 1 at Belle Machinna in Pocono , PA. I asked him how far it was & he told me in his Italian accent, "about 20 minutes"
I guess thats in a DIablo going 320 Kph :)

Hello William,
Please remember that the actual factory is in Maranello Italy, which is a few kilometers away from Modena, and the factory and Fiorano race track are like right in down town Maranello, it is really just a little city. Keep your eye out for the F60 running around town!!

When I drove from Modena to Milan last year, I think it was less than 2 hours (from city center to factory). The highway is wide open at that point and you can go all out.

Just found out I have a new factory in Milan making extreme duty telephones. I think I'll stop in & get myself a new suit & maybe drop by that other factory in Modena :)
