In the ER these bikes are refered to as donor bikes. Young riders with good organs. DOA...

Hubert - I want to echo your sentiments. I used ride a lot in the Angeles Crest area -- too many guys who do not belong on 900+cc bikes out there. That is not only a danger to other riders but to themselves out there. It aches me to hear about these horror stories about guys who go into turns too hot and go over the side of the mountain. Motorcycle dealers don't have any scruples about selling to an unlicensed riders sometimes - as long as they pay in cash and have a valid address to register to bike... truly disappointing.

These instances may be bad, ghastly even, but what bothers me more is the fact that here (in the US) a buyer, with no experience, can walk into a dealer and buy a 900cc sportbike with more hp than most compact car, and be on the road w/in hours; that should be illegal. People that wreck exotics, most of the time, walk away unscathed; those that meet the pavement on a sportbike, do not.

Just because you have the bucks to buy the toys does not guarantee that you can drive them.

Lets face it many of these sort of cars get scambled because the drivers are out of their depth, and instead of admitting that and doing the right courses to improve their ability ... they go too quick too soon.

The faster you go the bigger the prang. The sensible ones, take their time and get to know the limits, etc. on the race track.

Manufacturers must love these people, as they just order another ...

Even with my much lower level of cars, I take my time before getting into it ... but then I have done nearly ten years of track time.

that is so obnoxious! I don't know what I would do if I just bought an exotic and wrecked it within a weeks time. Unreal

I really hate to even bring this up, but heck, this is just bad. I've read stories of new Merc's living less than a week, and one just over 10 miles, and then... B A M.

Personally, I'm all about driving, but if you have the money, and its all go go go... well, you'll definately be faster than me, until you hit the next mile marker and I'm the one with four wheels that are still able to roll.
