From what I heard they never made a fuel injected version on the LM from the factory. Many people opted to put an aftermarket fuel injection system on the LM and countach so the car would always start up properly.

AFAIK 1988 was the last year for carbs. 1989 was the first year for injection.
Kdave, I know of one injected 1989 possibly for sale ~low $70's. 15k miles alloys & steel wheels.
Light greenish/gold with tan interior, new tires.

Thaks for the info. I am not sure what year they went to the fuel injection. I thin kit was 1990 or 1991. I know they are definatley hard to find. I have looked for quite a while, and nothing has come up.

Peter,

I think Niels meant this part:

>>>
I think it started it's life for Tina Turner, as a one off.
<<<

which I also don't believe to be true.

I DO believe she owns one though.

Neils, the Tina Turner story is true. As I wrote it earlier in this thread, the CBS TV show "60 Minutes" interviewed her at her home in France and in one of the segments, they filmed her and the reporter driving around it.

Well, they are quite rare in Europe, but there have been one for sale for ages here: http://www.amsterdams-automuseum.nl Asking 95k Euro!!! I heard they were build for the Arab market where the oil sjeiks needed an interesting piece of machinery to play with. Don't think the Tina Turner story is true.

They did not have any for sale when I was looking, they seem to have a pretty good rep. buy I have not dealt with them personally. They had a 91 LM american with 8K miles that I heard they sold for about $100K recently.

Adam,

Was that one you looked at and passed on? If so, what was wrong with it? How did you find Burtoni to deal with? Is he a decent guy? Just curious - we've exchanged e-mails, but I've never met him or talked to him in person.

Hope you enjoy the car, drive it a lot and ehhh...sell the Hummer to afford some new tires if necessary :-)

I will, it will take me a couple of weeks as the Hummer is in the shop and they told me it will be at least a week before they can even look at it.

It is pretty close to the same size, It is bigger in reality than it looks in the photos.

Adam, I've got some contacts at Goodyear that are pretty high up the food chain.
They were hand cutting some rain tires, from racing slicks, last time Goodyear was in Houston for the Texaco Grand Prix. Maybe that's an option.

Tom, Car was at Ferrari Costa Mesa, CA.

Alan, I did not keep any of the info on the ones I passed on, I beleive they did not have a problem selling them after I chose not to.

Jean-Louis, I agree, $600 does not sound too bad until you actualy have to buy 4 of them at the same time. I have had the same experience with my Hummer.

Adam I was told that when the Pirelli tires for the car were in stock they were $1,000.00 each- so the $600 doesn't sound as bad.

Tom, to answer your questions, I just dropped the LM at Lambo Beverly Hills, the service manager told me that Pirelli does not make the exact tire anymore, they have a similar one for about $600 each (Ouch!!) He also told me that parts should not be a problem as most of them are interchangable with other lambos, not to many custom parts used in this vehicle.

You should see the heads turn on Rodeo Drive :-)

Many years ago Road & Track did an article comparing the Lamborghini LM to the Hummer. Their main complaint about the LM was that the wheels for 4wheel drive had to be manually locked. Did Lamborghini ever address this issue. It seems weird that you would have to manually lock each wheel in a $150K vehicle - especially if you are stuck in mud. What a mess that would be.

question. Does Pirelli sitll make those tires? If so they must be a speacial order and the wait must be months!! I remember seeing these things at the Lambo dealer Oakville (Canada) years ago before the dealship went out of business. Those trucks are so cool! They sound very good to. But parts! were are you going to find parts? Didn't Lambo stop makeing parts for thses trucks a long time ago?

I run across them occasionally, they still bring a hefty sum. A hefty sum for a hefty truck. They did not sell very many. The last series was called the LM002 America. 455HP Countach V12 with an incredible interior and Pirelli Scorpion tires. You guys would not believe the size of the LM002 until you see one in person, they are HUGE! I have driven one in my life, a black over tan one about 10 years ago. The noise was amazing but it was not fast, just powerful. Love to have one, but try finding parts for that thing.

Is there a market on these vehicles?
I've seen one when new, here in Texas, but not since. Where did they go?
My son thinks it would be a good surf wagon!
Strap some boards on top and head for the beach.
Comments from Owners or dealers welcome. Thanks.
