I did consider it, and I think blue would be best! Red doesn't suit me.

J, have you considered going with a red tie or a blue tie...? Just wondering...

OK, I didn't get many more details, but here are some new things that I found out regarding the Gallardo.

Gallardo is 6 seconds faster around Nurburgring track than the Murcielago (major difference). Official release date/time is March 4th at 8:45am (Geneva time). F1 type transmission will be called E-Gear and will be available immediately as an option. I will likely not see mine until Oct/Nov (originally thought Sept).

If I hear any more details on Friday night at the Black Tie Preview, I will let you know.

Will do, Eli. I was in the same boat as you, but I put down a deposit on the Gallardo in October. For me the biggest factor was the length of time to wait for the car (I am scheduled to get mine in September).

Clax,

Try to pick their brains at the show to see if they will give you any more info on how he car will look. I am in between getting the Gallardo or the new 420.

I am hoping it resembles the photo below. It's like a cross between a Diablo and Murcielago. I'm sure it's going to look great when it's done.

Des, all the pictures you see of the Gallardo are just photoshopped or computer generated. Im sure it will have a hint of the Murcielago, but not much else. It wont even have the scissor doors.

Clax, the only thing that upsets me about the Gallardo is that it too closely resembles the Murcielago...

Eli,

The Gallardo is not at the Detroit show. It will be unveiled in March at the Geneva show. As far as details go, you probably already know this stuff, but here are some details:

500 HP V10, 3000-3100 pounds, 6-speed manual or F1-type gearbox, conventional swing doors (not scissor like on the Murci), 0-150 mph is expected to be equivalent to the Murci, track times around Nurburgring are faster than the Murci, pricing is expected to be in the range of the 360 ($160-170K).

Here is a concept pic:

I couldn't quite tell but it looks like it has roll hoops like a real Barchetta as oposed to the "big t-top" of corvette fame like it used to.

I'll see you on the 11th mike. My boss gets black tie but I'm just a regular lowlife this year because of budget cuts.

Michael, I will be there on Wednesday the 8th for a preview between 5pm and 9pm, and on Friday the 10th for the black tie (6pm to 9pm). Will you be around at either time?

Michael: I'll see you there. I tried to look you up at the Italian show at the Ford mansion in June. I talked to your partner, who said to look for a short, bald, ugly guy in a Lambo shirt. Then he laughed.
