Steve, I've had 2 Maserati Quattroportes a 82 and a 86. I also had 2 Biturbos too. I absolutely loved the Quattroportes, and I am looking for another Quattroporte right now! The series 3 4-portes were made from 1979 to 1987. 99% of them had the Chrysler Torque Flight tranny, while a handful had the tranny out of the Bora and Khamsin. I wanna say the cars made before 1982 had the 4.7 liter, and the later cars had the 4.9 liter V8. Both mine had the 4.9 liter. Only the 82 broke down on me once, on the top of my driveway, the ignition switch broke. The 86 never, ever went down on me. I sold the 82 with like 70,000 miles on it, and I sold the 86 with 105,000 miles on it. I want another one now to compliment the Ferrari. If you aquire the car, and want to sell it or if you know how I can aquire it, please email me privately.Parts are readily available for them, and they are fast and sound magnificent...the looks are not for everyone. If I can help you in any way, just let me know.

I have an opportunity to buy an '81 Quattroporte and an '87 Jalpa at prices below common list, but I've heard that both can be nightmares to own. Anyone have any experience with either of these?
