Jim, U live in NYC? I use to live in NYC in 96... Zackendorff Towers at Union Square.

MC, yes its rediculous to wear mask every where. I heard that the Italian quarantine is for 40 days.

Lung --- I do understand your situation as I've just cancelled the trip to Bangkok next week as we were told we MUST have our face mask on throughout the journey!! Don't you think is a bit rediculous to swim or playing golf with the face mask?!

U guys won't believe this...
I was suppose to go for my Maserati course in Parma next week. But because of SARS, Italy has put a quarantine on all travellers from Asia regardless if you're sick or not. The factory has told 10 of us not to go and that the course is postponed. This sucks!

Thanks James,

There were lesser new cases reported today and I reckon the SARS should be under control but we are still very careful and have to put the face mask on everyday and try to avoid going to any crowded area. I bet you might have heard that US had announced everyone should delay his/her trip to HK.

I also heard the front bonnet of the 456 costs more than US$12K for replacement.

Take care!

Yes. There's an article on 456A's in this months "Sports Car Market" (They have a web site)that quotes this number. I hope you and yours are safe and this SARS gets better soon!
Cheers

My Maserati 3200 needs it's Timing Belt changed every 40K miles!

One thing that is huge is that the Maserati has a timing chain not timing belts. Therefore the 30K belt service will not be needed saving a ton of bucks. The way I understand it, just do 5K oil changes and do a full fluid change at 15K intervals. Other than that, just alternator belts, brakes as prescribed by your driving habits.

Tough one to answer!

Do you get the fixed price servicing option for the Maserati in the States? This limits the standard servicing costs to about $750 per service for the first 3 years or 60K miles - probably halves the cost. So far my car has been very cheap to run and I'd expect the running costs to be about 50% of a Ferrari.

What would the projected 5 year maintenance & repair costs be for a used Ferrari 456GT (windows were fixed) vs 2002 Maserati 4200GT manual Coupe?
