Taek, the HID system uses a ballast and a non filament gas bulb to be able to handle the arc of 24K volts. On my 99 the headlight portion for the low beams are projection type. Unfortunately the kit only type systems are not street legal as they were not made for the stock reflector housing but there are some companies like Sylvania that makes some street legal versions but they are a complete set with headlight housing but they are only limited to Ford P-ups and chevy P-ups but that doesn't stop the consumer from wanting what they are really after and that is a night and day difference in visual performance. There are a few companies that makes them from A to Z, which one is better? well there are a couple from Japan, Catz & Bellof, and there is Hella and Phillips. There are also some from Taiwan which is very nice as their output and color is awesome and the price is right too. Reliability is good from Japan but as many ones I sell from Taiwan the reliability factor is not bad either, I get very little of ballast or igniter going bad but they get warranteed anyway. I am a firm believer in HID systems and every car I would ever own will have them. I drive fast and I need to see better especially at night, most projector setups are very poor for output vs. a clear diamond reflective background. |

Modman, about those HID light assemblies. Are they entire xenon gas fixtures or are they individual xenon bulb assemblies? I know some people who might be interested. Do they look and are they projection type beams? Street legal? Any pics? Cheers |
