Scary! I've had a similar experience. I ordered a Miata when they first came out. I guess someone needed to drive it on the weekend before they delivered it. They still represented new car with 275 miles on it... They said, "Its still new!" I couldn't believe it.

I used to work for an Audi dealership years ago, it was amazing how many new cars went out damaged, an old trick was to spray it with water just as the customer arrived to hide any scratches etc..
From experience, I have absolutely no confidence in any main dealer, including Porsche - my Boxster ( 2.5 97 car ) broke down 2 miles from the dealers after collection as, and I quote, " the car has been stood for a while !"

Sounds like your sales rep didn't check the car over prior to delivery. Very sloppy indeed.

Small dents like what this car had had can "usually" be removed painlessly without paint/bodywork in about 15 minutes time. You are probably aware of the procedure and I wonder why the dealer missed something so obvious.

Hum sounds like a dealer not to deal with. Hard to believe that the dealer would be that stupid.

Yesterday was my 3rd time. Brand New Alfa 147, day of collection, heavily pregnant wife (1 week to go) and young daughter in tow, get to take the final look around before jumping in and driving her home, nice dent in its side, we think thanks to the mechanic who did the PDI.

So now I have wasted 3 days off work and about a tankfull of petrol in doing the deal, got insurance I have to cancel, have to start the search all over again.

Not even an apology from the Alfa dealer in question...nice

What do these garages do, kick the cars around their forecourts! I felt like seriously kicking some of them around their forecourt I can tell you
