There was an Abarth hillclimb car that fits that description in an old issue of Auto Italia I picke dup in London. That must have been around 1996 (maybe?). I'll see if I still have the magazine at home for info. |

Inquiring minds... The Abarth 2000SP that I had was a single seater, CamAm type car (no roof)...with the engine mounted mid-section couple to a Colloti crash box. This car was allegedly one of two 2000SPs built...and was shown many. many years ago in Al Costentions Forza catalog. Orginally geared and used as a hill climb car in Europe...and then came to the States and run at Watkins Glen by Scott ???. The details are a bit sketchy, as I sold the car about 20 years ago...I'm looking for some slides I took of her, and will post them eventually. The motor was in pieces when I bought the car...though I remember the dual 58DCOE Webers well. I found a single carb choke, as well in the gargage cleaning. |

Wayne, would you happen to know what the S/N is (it isn't listed in the ad)? #012 was offered up at an RM auction down in Monterey back in 2002 and didn't meet its reserve and failed to get any higher than $18000!!! (obviously, no one in the crowd realised just what kind of a special and rare car that was sitting in front of them). It turned up later in Dec. on Ebay and failed to meet its reserve of $85000 (can't remember what the last bid was). After that, I lost track of the car... Not that I'm interested in buying since I don't have that kind-of money, but to have an idea of where cars like this end up. |

I don't know if this does anybody here any good, but there's also a Simca-powered Abarth OT 1300 for sale at Chequered Flag here in SoCal: http://www2.thecarexperience.com/pls/carexp/car_exp.car_page?p_car_id=9534 |

Isn't there one of these cars for sale right now? A "periscopo" model? I'll try to find the website and post it here. |

Many years ago I had this car... While cleaning my garage, I came across a spare ignition ditributor. It's a Magnetti Marelli unit, very similar in appearance to what's used on a 308... It is complete with the cam drive adapater, as used on the Simca/Abarth motor that the car had. Anyone interested in the piece of history? David
