I had the 4-valve engine before I had a Stratos and was going to put it in a Dino 246 coupe project I have but then I found the Stratos in the attic of a barn in Switzerland so that will be a more fitting place for it. The blue car is a normal road car (stradale) with 27,000 KM in decent shape but not a trailer queen. I have another blue Stratos that will have a big-valve engine with comp gearbox but the tub is a repro built by an english firm that rebuilt the Checkered Flag car. Can't tell it from the real one and I often use it for reference as they did an unbelievable job. Not one of the kits available. All the rest of that car is original competiton Stratos stuff. Three Stratos'--something must be wrong with me! |

Is it one of only 492 built (to win the World Rally Championship)? Is this going to be a street car or a rally car? |

Now one of those competition engines in a Dino would be interesting ... then she would be a fast little sucker Pete |

Those cars are neat. I have never seen one. Good luck with the project. The inside of the car must be nice. Keep us posted please. |

Peter, Luckily I found all the 4-valve parts 8 or so years ago. The heads and a lot of parts from California and many trips to Italy to see the "big daddys" of the Stratos era. Lots of fun seeing Italy while on a treasure hunt for Stratos parts. Probably impossible to do today as it was almost impossible back then! |

Yep that would be him. He is also quite into Lancias in general. There are also a couple of Sport Zagatos in the area. Also a B24 Spider, if it's still there. I came close to purchasing it a couple of years ago. |

AWESOME! Show us more! Any problems sourcing out parts for that four-valve motor? |

I'm not sure if I know him unless he is a fellow building a replica. |
