Ok here we go. You can go one of 2 ways:
A.With $150,000 you could buy an early car and upgrade whatever you feel necessary and have plenty of money left over.
B.Buy a 98-99 Sv and be ready to go, with some money still left over.

Either way, on your questions. First, i would personally avoid Al Burtoni. He has great knowledge and charges extremely well for it. Most cars he has for sale are customer cars, which are extremely overpriced. You can buy from a dealer or private party, depending on the deal. As for what youll need to spend a year to keep it running... thats tricky as it depends on you. My personal experience over pretty much 5 years of Lambo ownership has been pretty much gas and oil changes. THATS IT. I know several other people with the same experience. Now if you go around drag racing, riding the clutch, trying to powershift, you will most certainly not have a good experience. This holds true for any Ferrari also. Biggest worry on a Lambo for maintenence is the clutch. If you know how to drive, they last a long time, mine is now 5 years old and on a perfect original clutch, if you dont, it could go out very quickly.I always recommend to buy a car that has been driven and maintained if needed. Every Ferrari and Lamborghini that ive seen with miles on them, has always driven better and been more reliable than a garage queen. As for records, if your buying a collector car, than records are important. If your buying a driver, and a PPI checks out, then who cares about what was fixed before if nothing is wrong now. I would still use no records as a negotiating tool though. As for the weakest link on the car, again, for me, i consider them very strong cars. For a person who tries to drive one as if it were a Mustang, id say the clutch. The motors are very strong. Some people have complained of the front hydrolic struts going out also. Any Ferrari mechanic can work on the car.

As for the 360, in my opinion, its not even close to being in the same league. This is a Ferrari board and some dont agree with me, but thats my opinion. As to which you choose, that depends on you. Are you going to use it as a grocery getter, or are you going to use it to blast up and down your favorite road? The Diablo is much faster, and better looking. Makes the 360 feel tame. Also, do not buy a Diablo if you are shy.

As for the 6.0 being the pick, i disagree. The interior in them is the best, but i prefer the pop up lights and aggresive look of the Sv. They are also the lightest and fastest. If you need help locating a car, or need someone to talk who ever your buying it from, i can help you if you want.

The 6.0s are definitely the pick of the bunch, although my preference went to the open top roadster.

Cheers

Troy you do not have to ask # 11.

You will have to pay at least 10K
more on top of the cars price; to help
a garage queen leave the garage.

Clutch is the weak link. You will
burn it out quickly for people that
do not know how to "launch" the car.

PPI is really worth the money on whatever
you buy.

Allan has good advice.

Dan
I agree that one looks very nice.
Troy the only other thing I'd think about is that there are still a few New Diablos availble that would come with a warrantee from a Lambo dealer and might be worth making an offer on. They remain unsold for a long time and it would be worth a try.

Allan,

First let me thank you for being so kind. I have alot of questions to ask, If I become a pain in the ass let me know and I will refrain.

1. I have up to 150k to spend.
2. I have contacted Motorcars International and
Burtoni imports on cars they have for sale.
3. Am I better off buying from private party or dealer.
4. Should I buy a garage queen or a car that has been driven.
5. How much will I have to spend a year keeping the car running.
6. How important is a PPI.
7. Are service records a necessity.
8. Can I Insure the car through most companys.
9. What are the weak points of the car
10. Is it hard to find a good honest mechanic to work on the car.
11. Would I be better off with a 360.

Thanks for your help, I hope I didn't put you out to much. If this takes to much of your time
send me a bill and I will compensate you.
