My mom had a Fiat Spider back in the 70s. If you can belive it, it was pink with hand painted silver pin striping. She loved that thing but it sure was in the shop a lot.

Thanks for the confirmation, Wayne - judging by pics I've found elsewhere - the hood's height and lack of exposed fuel filler cap - my guess is it's a '59. By way of example, I've only seen one '62, a restored show-winner which has an exposed filler cap on the driver's rear side and a lower hood profile, though of course, it still has the lovely scoop. The Flaminia's of this era are also said to be Zagato's Masterpiece.

Wayne, what can you tell us about this vision of loveliness? For instance, is it an early 60's Flaminia 3C (Zagato)?

I've had rear engined, front engined and mid engined Italian cars (Fiat 850 Spider, Alfa 1300 GT JR and 1750 Spider, Mondial 3.2).

The Alfas forever hooked me on what a passionate and fun automobile is really all about. Woo - Hoo.

best to all

I've owned three Lancia Appias (two Sedans and a Zagato), two Fulvias (a Sedan and a Coupe), a Flavia (Zagato), and a Flaminia (Touring Coupe). Plus a Fiat 600 Sedan and a Fiat 600 Multipla, and a Fiat 1100 Sedan. And a Siata Spring (never drove). And a Moto Guzzi V50. And a Ferrari 348ts. That's my Italian vehicle list!

There is?.......Just kidding........The Alfa Giulia Spider Veloce looks cool......Anyone have experiences to share with that little beauty?

P.S. From what I've read, Lancia had independent rear suspension before Ferrari did.

I just found this interesting 'Italian Classics Meeting' in Mahlberg, Germany

Fiat 600. By the way some of our Ferraris have parts that were created for this car, like the Oil Cap in a Ferrari 328.

My first 2 cars were lancias. No classics though.

The first one was a 1979? Beta sedan. Ugly.
The second one was a 1981 beta zagato convertible. What a blast it was. To this day, I still miss it.

After that, 2 alfa's, a 1979 spider, which was also a blast, and my current 1991 164S.

Would love to own a Lancia Stratos one day.

There have been several Lancia post in the past. It's just that Maseratis, ALFAs, LAMBOs etc. are more widely know and owned. On the other hand I am looking for a nice Lancia 1600 Sport Zagato (Series II). Okay here is the hard part, Left hand drive and little rust.

I have had several Scorpions, Betas etc. previous to my current cars

Hello,

Wayne that is a really nice one, I love classic Alfas and Lancias.

However I was talking about the incredible victory history of the Integrale. That, and that it just happened that I used to own an Integrale, it was stolen almost 2 years ago :-(

The Integrale has an icredible history of victories, Lancia was 5 times World Rally Champion with that car. Best handling car ever, and way quicker (not faster) than my 328.

There are so many nice italian cars, Lancias, Alfas (which is coming back strong now in Europe, I love the new 147 GTA) even a couple of Fiats and exotics too, like Evan said the Pagani, or the Zieta.

I just would like to see more people interested in other italian cars, classics and contemporary, it is not all about Maserati or Lambo (which by the way if it continues this way we will have to change its denomination to German car)

This is just MHO

Yeah, I agree. Maybe this place should have a seperate Maserati board. Nobody talks about Pagani either... How 'bout that Zonda?

Julio, I agree with you about the lack of Lancia material here, but I would have picked a different road car to represent the marque:

Too many posts of maseratis and Lambos, what about the best road sport cars Italy has ever produced, the Lacia Integrale 16v series http://www.hf-integrale.co.uk/index.htm
