Rick, as far as I know, it is not illegal to sell a car for over MSRP. It may be different in other states though.

Chad, welcome to the board!

The Chicago Lambo dealer is a good guy. We too are selling Gallardos @ MSRP for those who are on the waiting list w/ an estimated delivery of late fall 2004. I spoke w/ some friends @ Lambo Dallas and they are pre-sold for two years. The good news is that the broker who gets 40-50k over further insulates our buyer from depreciation. Most of the Gallardo buyers are 360 owners who fell in love after a demo drive.

Waiting list for Gallardos are 6 month and the price is 167,000 u.s. dollars, at least that is what I can get one if I want at the moment, maybe because I know the dealer since 1984 has something to do with it, I don't know. But what I do know its that this is my case.
By the way I will test drive next week , this week I will meet with Yngwie J Malmsteen and Steve Vai in orlando, great weekend.

I'm with Michael and Allan on this one.

I know two people who have scoured the US for delivery that early while asking this late. There isn't a single place where they were able to find one for MSRP that soon.

Cheers

Lol, you cannot get a Gallardo within 3-4 months. You ma find someone who will take your deposit and Tell you 3-4months, but it will not happen.

Ernesto, if you don't mind me asking, where can you get a Gallardo for MSRP within 3-4 months. I know quite a few people who would love to get a car that soon.

ELI, Lamborghini does not speciffically say that a dealer can't sell a car for over MSRP. We choose not to charge over sticker because our customers usually come back to us when they are ready to trade it in.

I have a customer who paid sticker for the Gallardo and is taking delivery next month. It is coming in the color combo he asked for as well.

Frank,
I saw something similar the other day. Some car dealer has a price listed for leasing an Aston Martin AMV8. The car is not even out and they are quoting leasing agreements???

Yeah, guys. I just got my December '03 issue of Hemmings Motor News today. And,there are a couple scumbags...er...entrepreneurs selling cars that they don't even have yet for well over $200K! In this day and age,you had to see it coming! Maybe,if more guys like Lamborghini Chicago, who just happen to be a few miles from my house,"stick with sticker", then, those price gouging assh*les will have no choice but to come down. Sure,if you've got the kind of money to spend on a car like that. Doesn't mean you neccessarily like to piss away an extra 20,30, even 50 grand just to be "the first guy on the block" to have one. Most people that have money, are in that postion because they don't just throw it away. And,they usually associate with OTHER guys with the dough to buy a car like that. And,I do believe that bad news does travel alot faster than good news. And,good news spawns more business. New customers. And,repeat customers. So,in the long run. Guys like Lambo Chicago will prevail.

Three cheers for dealers like Lamborghini Chicago and others who do not charge over MSRP putting customer relations ahead of blatant greed :-)

Dan, Lotus has promised us that sticker would be under $40K, so I would think that it will be about $39,500 or so. It should be a fun car.

At Lamborghini Chicago, we are NOT charging over sticker for the Gallardo (nor for the Lotus Elise). We have found that customers come back to us for additional vehicles becasue they feel we have not taken advantage of them just because the cars are so popular. I am not sure, but I thought that most Lambo dealers don't charge over sticker.

I heard a rumor the Atlanta dealer is not charging over MSRP if you had already made inquiries about the car prior to it's introduction.

I don't see how are they bringing 50k over sticker when the waiting list is only a 6 month wait and I just talked to a lambo dealer and I will test drive a gallardo in a week and a half and they told me that the car is only $167,000, But just in case I will keep my dealerships name all to myself.

I hear they are bringing 50k over list. Would it not make more sense to purchase a pre-owned Murcielago.
