I have Bilstein Sport shocks, H&R-springs (-30mm), Yokohama A520 215/40-17 and a modified exhaust on my GTV 2.0. It corners very well, has better respone on mid revs and has a VERY nice sound. It is very fun do drive too. The 0-62 is about 8.4 sec, max speed 215 km/h it's not at highway rocket but on twisty roads it performs well. The aluminium sub frame for the rear suspention is a piece of art and for fwd cars it gives an unbeatable grip. On track it is definitely one of the fastest 150 hp standard car. Ciao Peter |

Peter, Thanks for your comments. What is the on-road performance of the 2.0 like? I currently have a Renault Clio 2.0 (172bhp) which has great combination of acceleration, with reasonable fuel consumption and refinement. I thought of the 3.0 as I'm keen to retain my existing level of performance if possible - but having looked at some dealer websites there seem to be a lot more 2.0's around so if there's not much in it, maybe I should look at these too.

I have a GTV TS 2.0 -96. I have used it as an everyday car since -97. The balance on the 2-litre TS is just perfect. The V6 is a little bit heavy at the front. On the track the TS has better balance and are more fun to drive. The V6 is faster on the track but have a little to much understeer (they say) an is therefore not that fun as the TS. As a GT-car the V6 is very good. According to British Top Gear the GTV V6 is a MiniFerrari and I agree. The hood is made of composite an so are the small fenders. The rust protection is good (I live in Sweden). The trunk is a joke. Remove the spare wheel and replace it with Bottled air and use soft bags and it will be sufficient for a 2-week holiday, yes we have done it. The rear seat is usable for legless dwarfs. It's more reliable than ordinary BMW, Audis etc. I do really recommend that car. Ciao Peter |

Anyone have experience of this car - I am looking around for an everyday driver, and love the looks of this car. I'd probably want to get a 1 or 2 year old one with Momo leather. Is it practical as an everyday car? Is it reliable? Your views appreciated. |
