Rob, Thanks for the offer. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I have Forced Family Fun that weekend and can't make the autocross on the 1st. Ping me via email the next time you're headed to one of these.

Yep, I've heard of her and prob met her a few times. Pro racing schools are cool if you want to eventually club race. I've never been because they're all really expensive. An autocross day only costs about $30. Next to autocross I recommend the track events. Local clubs that do track events are www.thedriversedge.net, PCA, BMW CCA, www.texasworldspeedway.com, www.nasatx.com, and then Panoz has started some at TMS. They all cost only about $225-300 for the weekend and they will put amateur instructors with you that can teach you a bunch. The track days are more high speed and fun, but autocrossing will teach you more technical skills that you can apply to daily driving and kart racing. |

Small world. A lady I work with is listed on your autocross page. Su Brude. She has a Z06 vette and an RX7. I had mentioned the ferrari club to her and she was not interested too much. |

I did a course several years ago for my car that was put on by the Panoz Racing School at Road Atlanta and the instructors were all professional drivers (or had been). I'd recommend one of their courses, though I'm not sure how their normal course compares to a car-specific one. I have thought of taking another with them, especially now that I'm in Dallas and Texas Motor Speedway is right here. I also think autocrossing would be a nice thing to get into. I have not known where to look into it, so I think I'll be reviewing the link as well Rob. |

I would recomend autocrossing. I don't know much, but I think 80% of what I learned was from autocrossing, not club racing or track events. You can autocross any car. You also see several trucks out there (light trucks or like Lightnings). My 325is is set up for autocrossing and I run slicks on it. I would be happy to let you borrow my car for an autocross if you're ok with a stick. My next autocross is Sept. 1st in Bedford. It's about an all Sunday event. It will end about 4pm and you'll be exhausted by the end of day. You get 6 runs, but have to work at least one heat that runs about 1-2 hours. The entire time being out in the sun. I would love for you to do it with me, I can never talk people into going out there, but it's a great experience. I can ride with you on your runs and you can ride with me on mine. Your first autocross would improve your driving 200%. Here's the org I autocross with... http://www.autocross.com/er |

After being seriously trounced at TBC, I know now that I have to learn how to really drive. As I only have my pickup right now, one of the Driver's Edge events probably wouldn't do me any good. Anyone have recommendations, positive or negative, for driving schools in the area that supply the whole package? Thanks |
