I am calling them Saturday to remind them to save some spots. I went there Fri night with 4 firends and it was a little tame. I saw Vortex in the back too, never realized it was there. I was hoping to be driving a black 328 to the event, but I chickened out so no car this time. |

As a large personal sacrifice, I went to Carsons Sat night in the Ferrari to be sure it was an acceptable location for us to meet. My opinion is, I don't remember. I seem to recall talking to some women while standing in line out front, and I also recall pulling up to the Valet and helping myself to a parking space. I also never realized that there was a disco in the back. And yes, my car will easily do 120 down the George Bush. But since my memory is a little fuzzy, I guess I'll just have to go back this week! I don't expect to be able to get there until at least 7:30, maybe closer to 8:00, but I WILL be there. Who's going to tell the Valet to save all the prime spots for us? |

Rob, thanks for the compliment. I've spent many long 100 degree days working on that thing. The list goes on... See you at Carsons! |

Looks like it is shaping up to be a good event. Maybe I can convert some of you EEEEtalian car lovers over to the dark side and wow you with the wonders of German engineering (while pinching myself for not buying a 328).

I'd suggest we start a little later, gives those of us with kids more time to spend at home and earn brownie points. A 7 or 7:30 work best for me, but I'll try to make it regardless. |

I am not sure if an E55 classifies as Exotic, but I will try to make it. I will be in Houston until Saturday afternoon, but I get back about 5:30, so I can probably be at Carsons by 6:30 or 7:00. |

How about Saturday, October 26th at Carsons? Meet at 6 for happy hour, look at cars, and play some pool. We can can then get a bite to eat and for those that want to hang out later, trust me, Greg and I will close the place down. Jim, can you call ahead and get us a few reserved places up front? Should we announce it to the FCA crowd? |

I would have to vote for a weekend night since I'm never in town on a weekday. Then again, it may be easier to secure parking if it were on a weekday. You know, a favorite bar of mine lately is The Loon, across from the West Village shopping/apartments off Lemmon. Plenty of "scenery" and a large parking lot - would gather lots of traffic. Just a thought. If only one of us owned a restaurant/bar. |

Sean, you're right... the Pappas BBQ (formerly Fender's) is a great place for a car gathering. There's a lot of clubs that still get together there... and have for many years. There's covered parking and you can walk around with an ice cold beverage of your choice while you enjoy the cars. Just wish we could drum up enough interest... no matter what the brand of car. Unfortunately, this may NOT be the best place in Dallas for observing other interesting things.... |

We've been talking about doing something at Carsons for quite a while, maybe we need to just do it. I like the fact that we can all line up out front. |

Lotus' too! Even NSX's. I am not a car snob, I love 'em all old, new, foreign and domestic. It is the owners I might not like! |

Don't forget the Lotus club to join... ;) Anyway, I know a local Mustang club gets Pappa's BBQ (anyone remember Fender's off NW Hwy?) to let them have the space to have a car show once a month. The car guys get space and discounts, Pappa's gets increased sales, especially alcohol. I don't think it would be hard to convince anyone, it would just have to have a decent size parking lot. By the way, if any of you guys show up at Samba Room or the Knox/Henderson places in your car, let me know and I'll come join you all. I live right there and usually walk, but I always want to park in front and show up the usual Boxters and such. This would give me a good excuse. |

Carsons is a good place because of all the great valet parking and they put the Ferraris right up front and you can park them yourself. Carsons is a great place for a crowd too. Variety of food, drinks, music, tv, and pool. |

Oh, what do I expect from the restaurant? I was thinking that when things are more organized they go off better than just mingling. A PA announcer to say something, welcome us etc. A prize giveaway for something, maybe some girls to promote it like from Exotic Car World or Ticket Chicks. I don't know. Just ideas. After our go cart thing we have nothing going on. Oh, just thought about this...the weather...today it sucks so that could be a reason to wait til spring. |

Forgot about Samba Room, Sipango and Cuba Libre. Just ate there last week. Good questions Tillman, I guess we could just show up, but it seems that to get exotic owners to show up it needs to be a "formal" thing. Maybe not though. Could just circulate the date/time to our email list and to the BMW club, Porsche club, Viper club and the FIAT, masserati clubs. |

A place like the Samba Room in the Knox Henderson area might not be a bad choice. Also, Cuba Libre, also in the Knox Henderson area is a good place. They have a big parking lot and are very "high-end" care friendly. |

Hmmm. I know a guy that's involved with the Two Row restaurant in Dallas at Greenville and the one in Allen. The big question is what exactly you expect from the restaurant that you wouldn't get from just all meeting there, and what benefit is there to a restaurant to hosting this kind of activity (assuming the place is doing OK anyway).

Have you all read the thread about Exotic Car Night at that club Plan B in L.A.? Sounds really cool. Does anyone know somebody who owns a cool club in Dallas that is either a F-car owner or F-car friendly? I know a part owner of Carson's in Addison and I know the guy who owns Lakewood Landing in Lakewood area. Can't think of any others off top of my head. What would be a good area? Las Colinas? Addison? Greenville Ave? Deep Ellum? Bar? Restaurant? Strip Club? I imagine any bar owner would jump at the chance to be affiliated with high end cars which draw alot of attention. If you give me some thoughts I will look into this. |
