He was a big guy and I was a little worried that he might fall down and hurt one of the cars. I was moving around kind of like an elephant in a china store.:-)

I mean it does sound snobby as he was just appreciating the cars like we do, but c'mon. I don't walk up to Schumi and tell him how to take a corner!

Clown: Well ya see this here one is what ya call a "testarossa".

Us: Um, actually that is a 512 TR, but yes essentially the same car.

Clown: Well, ya see this testarossa is the same car as that 512...you fellas do know what the 512 stands fer don'tcha?

Us: Ummmm, yeah we know.

Jim/Ken and I kind of ignored him at this point as he was just rambling.

Yeah Jim....
I am glad that bone-head set us straight. To think that all this time I thought I actually thought that I knew Ferrari history.

Jim S., you may have lied about none of us living in a trailer! I seem to recall one of us is sort of 'housing challenged' at the moment.

I'm still laughing about the drunk guy in the parking lot. To think all these years I thought a 512TR and a TR were DIFFERENT cars! And I'm SO glad he thinks white is the best color for a Ferrari. Kind of makes me want a red one.

Hey Terry, I heard you went home a little too soon. According to Brian's story he ended up with two young hotties! Too much for Brian to handle on his own. Sorry Brian!!!

It was nice meeting everyone as well, and seeing the line-up was impressive. Great variety of cars.

I did get a look at the mystery bill today, thinking she may not have correctly pulled mine off even though I paid separately. Luckily, no Fat Tires were on it, so she got that right.

Anyway, looking forward to the next event.

Rob,
Wife and I took care of our drinks and dinner with Ashley (server) before the band started and subsequently opened our own. I had discussed with Ashley to keep our tab seperate from the gitgo. She explained that it was faily easy due to the drinks we had (differnt than others). Those who paid little or none just got caught up in the excitement and I'm sure they will anti up. RIGHT.

Here's a bio on CJ, the owner who came around and gave us the VIP cards. He was a pool world champion...

Terry, yes, it was great to have you and Brian out. I hope you guys make it to some more events. Tillman is running our karting series and the next event is November 12th at 7pm. See the other thread about that event.

I intended for the pool to be on me from the get go.

Welcome to Fchat! It was good meeting you also. Your car and Brian's ride really added that little "over-the-top" element to the lineup.

We _do_ need to do this again!

Had a great time meeting everyone the other night. I am the one with the yellow 360. I made sure that I payed for my drinks ran a seperate tab. I didn't pay for any of the pool tab. Let me know what I owe. I think I played for about an hour. Again had a great time. Looking forward to doing it again.

no, I actually wanted to pay for the pool, I was the one that messed up and didn't get table reservations. I never dreamed that a late night dance hang out would be reserved up at 6:30pm. It worked out ok having those tables and the pool table. I think the only ones that were looking more for a formal sit down dinner was Kevin and his wife.

I played 2 games of pool with Greg/Michelle so if that is significant let me know. I was a bit tipsy at that point so wasn't even thinking about pool table charges...thought we had put quarters in it or something.

Typical waitress, says that we need to put everything on one credit card early on and not until later and I have the $240 bill does she say, "oh, I could of divided up all the bills".

I paid for the pool table, my drinks and food, Greg Scott's drinks, and Michelle's drinks and food. So all of that is up there in the triple digits. I don't think anyone really forgot to pay, just maybe a little short here and there.

Brian from ECW and the yellow 360 guy were still there when I left, if they weren't paying cash all night, then I paid for theirs too since I left before them.

Damn! Sorry I missed out on this one. Saturday afternoon I totally forgot that my friend's wedding was that night in Shreveport and we hopped in the car and took off. I see Aaron came out in his Lotus to take my place (almost identical car).

When we were leaving and waiting on the valet to bring the car around another couple leaving was making snide remarks about the cars. The girl was saying how she bet that everyone that owned those cars lived in a trailer. She was obviously jealous. I told her that I "organized??" the event and that I promise that nobody lives in a trailer. Her jaw didn't drop, but it sure closed very quickly.

Also, Jim and I were out looking at his white 328 and some drunk patron was out there trying to tell us what the 512 stood for in 512TR. He was also trying to tell us that a TR and a 512 were the same car. Then Jim says the white 328 is his and the guy still keeps talking trying to tell Jim about his car! It is funny, but I do appreciate the fanfare it creates.

Don't worry about it. Hook me up next event. It's really not too bad, because I paid for myself, Greg Scott, and Michelle. So between our food and beer our part was probably $100.

Rob, I had my own tab going at the bar. If fact remember I offered to pick up your drink early in the night and the gal said you had a separate tab. However looking at my receipt I think the waitress put my food on your tab. It was calamari appetizer and bacon wrapped shrimp. E-mail me and let me know what I owe you and I will send you a check.

Thanks for everything!

I didn't even notice that Rodney and Marci had brought the Indy and not the 365 2+2.

Let me know if anyone didn't pay up. My final bill was $240, which really isn't too bad for a group that large. I think next time we'll make the bills separate though. :-)

Our final car list was...

308 GTSi (Jerry)
328 GTS (Rob)
328 GTS (Tillman)
328 GTS (Jim E.)
348 (Ric Rainbolt)
348 (Dan)
355 (Don)
360
360 Spider (ECW Brian)
Testarossa (Greg S.)
512 TR (Greg B.)

Maserati Indy
Lotus Espirit
Porsche 911 w/GT3 engine
AMG

Yes, we had a max of 11 Ferraris there at one time with 12 total Ferraris that were there at one time or another. JimE, Greg, and I were the last ones to leave. No, I didn't hit 135 on the way home, maybe 90 once or twice. I'll post pics, but it was a great event. More to come.

11+ Ferraris, final score. Everything from a 308 to a 360 Spider. I don't think ANY of us expected a night like this, especially the owner of Carsons. We're all important VIP's now.

Remember, his wife doesn't like me. My kart racing past coming back to haunt me. Maybe after Jennie and I take them out to the restaurant of their choice for buying a ECW car...

Anyway, a few calls today, I think there might be a chance of 8+ Ferraris. That would be a new record, except for the ECW bikini event.

My experience at Carsons is to pull up, say you would like to park up front and say, "oh, I'll just park it myself", like you're doing them a favor. I was hoping Carsons would work out a free parking thing, because the valet company expects more than the usual for parking up front. Greg and I usually give $20 each. However, I think $10 would be fine. Up front we usually pay them before and not after too.

I'll be there at 6:15 and talk to them about several places together for the photo opp.

FYI: Spoke to Carson's and they contract out the valet service so they can't make promises, but he said it is basically first come first served. However, he said if you have a cool car and want to park up front you can easily work that out with the valet. Now if the spots are full you will have to do some negotiating if you don't want them to park your car. I doubt the spots will be full at 6:30 on a Sat unless there are big football fans there.

It won't be very crowded at 6:30, but I was thinking it would be easier and look better if they didn't park any others in our section beforehand.

Jim, did you call to say that we would have 10+ exotics between 6:15 and 8 if no rain. Closer to 5 prob if it's raining. The event is rain or shine, but not all will bring their pretty cars. Anyway, I can call if you want. I just think we should get 10+ places right together.

Thanks Rob, I have been through the car top to bottom. I know the car is no where worth the money I have in it, but something is to be said for the updated A/C, New targa top seals, All service complete, no leaking oil...Etc.

No hard feelings Tillman, but for $10,000 less than Exotic Car World is asking, I will hang on to the car.

Anyway, count me in for Saturday - Rain or Shine! I look forward to meeting all of you!

We don't really need a count, but I have at least 5 Ferraris, a Lotus, and a AMG.

Dan's 348, Greg Scott's TR, Jerry's 308, Jim's 328, Rob's 328, Ken's AMG, and Sean's Lotus.

Are Pounds and Tillman coming?

I sent an email to all DFW FCA members and I'll send another reminder Wednesday.
