I think the important thing is seeing that 1-3k+ miles were consistently put on the car year after year. You know one with low miles either has incorrect miles or you know for sure it wasn't driven much. Do a carfax and if they had it inspected every year, then it will show the progression of miles. Even a 30k mile car may of had all it's miles early on and sat recently. |

Would something more along the lines of a 20k mi car split the difference between too few and not being driven and too many and being a daily driver. How about this one? http://www.sportauto.cc/B061fer91red/B061fer91red.htm |

Agreed. I just looked at traderonline.com and there was a testarossa on there for $84K and right below it are two going for $55K and $59K. They are older models, but c'mon. |

I actually seek out Ferrari's with moderate amounts of mileage on them (mid 30k/40k). Those with very low miles seem to exponentially increase in price relative to modest mileage ones. I just don't think it's worth the rather silly price delta (ex: 91 w/ 8k miles vs. 91 w/ 40k miles). Assuming exterior, interior, engine are excellent and service history is conclusive, why pay the large multiples in prices? Besides, I understand that Ferrari's LIKE mileage on them! Not doing so leads to problems if you "convert" the car from a garage queen to a moderate driver (5k or so per year). I think the discrepancy is more for those who try to hang onto the car as an "investment". And you know the old joke: Q: How do you end up with a million dollars investing in cars? A: Start with two million. My .02, Chris. |

looks nice, but didn't see a price. only 8k miles so will be pricey i bet and with low miles everyone says you will have upfront maint costs unless services have been done. |

I'm considering the idea of contemplating about thinking about planning to sell my 91 348ts, but not until spring-ish. I am here in the DF/W area. It's a 91 ts red/tan w/ 40K. A pictures is on my profile here. Those on the list that have met me or seen my work can tell you that my cars are well kept. Let me know if you're interested. |

If you look at the rear quarter panel the bondo is cracking along the centerline that divides the bumper cover from the quarter panel. The passenger? (I think it was the passenger side, it's been awhile) side door did not line up. The doctor guy was the one that confirmed to me that it was hit in the rear. Maybe that is where the electrical problem stems from. I would buy the car for $30,000.00 |

Man I am glad you said all that Dan. I looked at that car up and down adn almost bit! The paint looks good now, but the interior is rough so I figured there is no way the paint is perfect and the inside is shot without a full repaint or something. Accident! The back grill is broken above the left taillight. I was trying to think how that could have happened. Accident! |

Chris - I had the rockers, targa top and trunk lid painted for $1500.00 for Mastercraft-Ovilla, TX. As far as the car that is at European Auto Care. THIS IS A PIECE OF ____T! I looked at the car 2 years ago at the doctor's house who owned it and it had been hit in the rear. The interior is rough, leaks oil (Like that matters), battery drains due to electrical problem, A/C has a leak, targa top leaks...ETC. Not to mention he has been trying to sell that car for 2 years. Don't let him try and say that there was another owner after the doctor guy because there was not. I have tracked the car for the past two years. FYI two years ago he was asking $55,000.00.

If the PPI checks out after lack of use, this one could be a real diamond. I'm with Tillman, drive these babys often and hard. They love it as much as you will. |

It was owned by a collector who had multiple Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. The current owner bought it with 400 miles on it 8 months ago and needs to sell it to invest it into an upcoming company he is helping finance. He has all books, tools, records, covers, etc....No paint work, no stories. Jonathan Peck |

1300 miles? In 11 years? 118 miles each year? What on earth did this guy buy it for? I did more than that the first day. No knock against the car, I'm sure that's great for the next owner. It just struck me as sad.

The $45K 348 at ECW is still there. Dan you bought the other one and had it painted. The one they have is already painted and the interior is rough. The $49K 348 Tillman just mentioned might still be there. I called this guy 2 weeks ago and offered $46 and he said no way as he had just come down to $49K and had a buyer coming in that wed with a check so it may be gone. Also, I tell ya guys there are some bargains to be had out there. I have made to ridiculous offers on 2 '87 testarossas and both are considering. I talked to one guy with a '85 308 in pristine condition for $35K and he said he paid $85K for the car in '89. Be patient. |

You might try these guys in Carrollton. They have a 91 ts for 52K (but it was 49K in TraderOnline) http://www.flash.net/~taf/sales.htm I know nothing about them except they showed up in the TraderOnline search |

Not much of the good detailed info you need. Complete records or at least last documented major info is needed. |

Chris, You might try calling Norwoods. I was there last spring and one of their customers had a '91 TB with 19k miles that looked to be in decent shape asking $50k. That was many months ago so the car maybe gone. You can always ask the guys at ECW to search around for you. |

Hey Guys, The 348 selling for the mid 40's is gone from Exotic Car World. It has been in my garage for the past month. It was the other 348 that they had with 18,000 miles. Believe me, there is not another deal like this around, I've been looking for the past 2 years. I have much more $$ in the car now that the service is done and the rocker panels are painted. Expect to pay $51,000 - $56,000 for a decent early year 348. |

And I forgot, the '91 interior wasn't in the best shape and needed a seat re-dye REALLY badly. Plus the 45k service is creeping up. Would, say, 45k give or take be more appropriate. |

I heard from a reliable source that the 91 was available for $46K or so if you walk in with cash or the equivalent. This was in the last 2 weeks. Maybe that was a "brother-in-law" price? Call Brian at ECW and ask him. |

Jonathan at ECW quoted me 52k firm for the 91. Said the 90 was in the low 60's. Just checked the website and the 91 is still at 52k and the 90 is at 66.5k. |

More like $45 to 50k for a 348 in good condition. You might check with them again, I think one of those 348's was in the mid $40's. |

I think the '91 was at 52k. Seemed a little pricey given the miles and the work needed to bring it up to speed. I am thinking that 50-55k would be appropriate for a '90-'91 with decent miles in good condition. Am I off base on that? |

You're not going to find many 348's cheaper than $45k. Even if ECW doesn't have a car you want in stock, be sure to tell them you're a FerrariChat.com user and what exactly you're looking for and price. |

I actually went out looked at that one already. It is just a bit above the $$$ rang I am comfortable with at this point. I looked at the red/tan '91 with the painted rocker panels and roof. Sounds like it needed a LOT of TLC and had some past body work. I think thats the right price range I am looking for, but I want to avoid a car that need a lot of work. |

Exotic Car World has a 90 348 TS red/tan. Runs good, but seats need some tlc. I almost bought it but didn't. Not hard to bring a car in at all. Just need to be sure it will pass emissions etc. The market is flooded with cars and if you are patient you can get one for a great price right now. |

I have been kind of lurking on the board for a while and thought it was time to take the plunge. I am looking for a "91 348TS. Any advice from you guys on where to start? Should I stay local or go outside DFW? I am pretty new to Texas and have heard it is difficult to bring an out-of-state car and re-register it in Texas. Any thoughts? |
