For those of you too lazy to check the calendar, that's the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

Because of increased participation, we decided to extend the points system to cover 36 places. That should allow everyone that comes out to pick up at least some points. The final standings in each series will still be determined by the best 12 scores during the series. Points will range from 60 to 1. I'll post a detailed table on the website at http://www.strahan.org/FCA/ when we transition to the new season(s). Dates are still as follows: Spring Series: January 14 February 11 March 11 April 8 May 13 June 10 Fall Series: July 8 August 12 September 9 October 14 November 11 December 9 Thanks --t |

Jim, I don't think anyone is expected to make them all. The additional races will actually make it easier for everyone to make at least some of the events. Additionally, having it at a set time per month (2nd Tuesday) makes it easier to tell other people about it without having to fumble around with the dates. We did take out the FCA requirement

Is every 4 weeks too often? I'm not sure I can swing that. I realize it isn't necessary to make them all, but I like to try. Besides, I'm not sure I WANT to see you guys that often. :-) |

Oh, I see the question now. The number of races will double, since we basically ran a truncated series this year. The Spring and Fall Series will use the 12 best scores, so you can drop 6. Most people will use 6 finals + 6 heat races. You can miss 2 dates and still have 12 races, with 4 finals + 8 heat races.

If we get 15 people, we get $30. If we have less, it's $35. In either case, the little additional will help cover the costs, and maybe we'll have a bit left over for a celebration. I guess we're going to need a treasurer soon, eh? As far as the points go, let's leave it as is. The structure rewards consistency of finish and participation, but doesn't kill people if they miss some. Besides, just being a final doesn't guarantee that those points are higher than the heat races -- just look at my results in the last event! |

Did you ask if we can get the $30 rate? Also, are you still doing the same points structure with the final race worth double. That way if you attend all six, most likely your final races will all count. I might recomend that you count the best 4 totals of the 6. That way there's not still a penalty for missing 1 or 2 events. The people that go to all 6 will still have a little advantage to reward them for their dedication. All sounds good! |

Here's the schedule for the 2003 Karting Challenge at TBC. We're using the same format as 2002. The cost is $40/event, to cover the cost of the track and the trophies for the race/season. Each event is on the 2nd Tuesday at 7:00pm, on the track by 7:30pm. There's a spring series that runs January through June, and a fall series that runs July through December. Due to our points system, you can miss up to 33.333% of the races and still have full points in the series. While these events are officially FCA/DFW events, everyone is welcome to participate in the series. Spring Series: January 14 February 11 March 11 April 8 May 13 June 10 Fall Series: July 8 August 12 September 9 October 14 November 11 December 9 Any questions? Contact me, or post them here, or see the website at http://www.strahan.org/FCA
